microwave/convection above the range??

Is there a possible way to put a microwave or microwave/ convection oven above the range top where the air vent would normally be? It would hang lower probably but we be great especially with one of those inset ranges with the glass tops.

There's just not enough height there to accommodate one. Structurally I suppose you could build in enough support for it to hang there with the cabinetry, but the distance between the bottom of it and the top of the counter would not work. If the cabinetry were cut away entirely and just butted up against each side, allowing it to mount higher, then perhaps. But that's quite a mod, and it's certainly nothing Escape would do for you.

Nancy, as we have talked about, we are mounting our microwave in a custom cabinet below the cooktop. It will definitely not be as convenient as the normal eye-level installation, but it is an acceptable trade-off for us in order to get a larger microwave (that also happens to include convection). My knees aren't that great but I think I will be able to access it by just bending over vs. stooping down. Now we just have to wait and see if the microwave we have purchased will fit into the custom cabinet Rease made for it. He used specs from the microwave manual but you never know. Fingers crossed.
