I found that changing the color of the trim from white to brown or black made a world of difference to the "look" and the change is free!! The stock formica is like a brownish marble and the brown/black trim really hi-lights it. As far as the hatch, there is little room for expansion as there are utilities under the bed restricting the size. There is always the interior hatch under the bed that is large.

Here is ours with cream trim. Like CPA says, with dark trim (dark brown or black) it looks a little different.

Hi: cpaharlet2008... After having the white edge trim, and light Formica, in our 5.0 we really like the brown. We changed the stock Formica to the darker Butterrum Granite. I think it works well with the stock flooring too. Tammy said it is what they used to use, and still available!!! Alf

21 build

Thanks everyone for helping us decide on options .We will have trailer delivered to Goshen Indiana this Fall .Hopefully they can get 1 more trailer on this load to lesson the $ charged .
We are stuck on fabric color since blinds are MOCHA color so what we had in mind will not do . Back to the drawing board for Fabric .next the Formica I'm wondering if a Green fabric will go with Formica standard? Things we need help on.
1-we are going with extra insulation but what windows to go with ? 1000/1500
2-Fabric Green family ? We will look at Sunbrella fabrics this week
3-pick a Formica top ? We are going to Lowes to look at samples
4-battery choice a 29 single .We have never run out of power with a 24 series in our Lil Snoozy.
5-Still undecided on front box for $700 ? I have to look at alternatives metal /plastic etc.

Options that are on our build sheet
1-A/C
2-microwave
3-160 w solar
4-2 way H2O
5-ext shower
6-1 counter ext
7-storage cubby by bath
8-extra fridge fan
9-12 volt drops in upper cabinets
10-flip burners for more counter space
11-rear camera drop wire for wired back up camera ?
12-King Jack antenna and tv swing arm

I think that's it ? Any thoughts ?

I called about the Butterrum granite yesterday because we liked it, but I was told it is no longer available as a standard color, so you have to pay the upgrade charge and I assume source it yourself. We can get the brown formica trim though and we plan to do that because we think it looks better as well.

We are most likely going with the frameless thermal option due to the fact that you get an opening rear window and thermal escape hatch window vs. the non-frameless version which is non-opening rear and single-pane escape I believe. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

We are going for the max cold-weather capability, so every little bit of improvement is important to us in that area.

ETI told me there is no weight difference between the 2 thermal window options for what that's worth.
