Exactly. Price increases for products made in Canada with U.S. supplies and components are inevitable when the relative value of the currencies change this way.

I doubt it is allowable under trade agreements, but it is also pointless: C$35,000 is still C$35,000 for Escape, regardless of whether the buyer used US$27,3000 or 3.3 million Yen to get it. If C$35,000 is not enough (due to cost increases), then everyone will be charged a higher price.

That's true. I hate the sales tax in Texas, but then I remember there's no Income Tax here. At my current salary I'd pay a 9.9% marginal rate in income tax if I lived in Oregon. OUCH! Way more than a couple grand in sales tax - and that's every year. I guess there are tradeoffs for everything.

I absolutely love northern New England during autumn, I spend most of it in the woods during that time.

They did raise the prices for 2015 models, I believe for just Glen's reasons.

Yeah, I would take no income tax over no sales tax, but most states have both so I consider myself fortunate. Used to live in Cali, so anything is a blessing now...

Yup. Since ours would be completed in January it was 2k more. But, I think Glenn's comment has more to do with ETI having a lowered margin due to the recent plummet in exchange rate, rather than the annual price adjustments.

I believe the exchange rate was the reason given, not just a yearly increase.

Thanks gbaglo. Undefined acronyms mean absolutely nothing to those that don't know where to look to find out what they mean.

Back on topic: yesterday our son said (I hope) jokingly that he was going to send us to The Home. I think we have our new trailer name!
