New 19 In The Driveway

Just got back home after picking up our brand new 19. It's everything we hoped it would be and more. The folks at Escape managed to get all of our preferences in and we just love it. We will be adding a few things for that personal touch over the next few weeks as well as taking it out for some short local camping trips. The camping season here is rapidly drawing to a close but we should be fine because we got the extra insulation and thermal windows. Good thing too, the temp here this morning was 6C (43F).

We can't get over how much more room there is in the 19 than we had in our 17. It's going to be great.

Re: New 19 In The Driveway

Congrats!

The 19 is a subject of envy in this house. Old Bag has suggested several times that we might move up.
I'm holding to the idea that it's much too luxurious to be considered camping.

Doug:

Congratulations on your new 19 foot Escape!

Yes, you should be able to extend the season quite a bit with your new trailer. With hookups we were camping from January to July without any discomfort. In earlier postings you mention having travelled on Highway 16 to make the trip to pick up your trailer. We made a trip in May from Vancouver to Kitimat stopping at Lac La Hache, Tyhee Lake (Telkwa) on the way up and Ten Mile Lake (Quesnel) on the way down all without hookups.

Doug,
I spoke to your when you were picking up your 19ft. Both Deb and I wished you good luck with your new trailer. We camped all summer in 2010 in a 16ft Scamp. Our new 19ft Escape was like moving into a castle.

Congrats on moving up to the 19 Doug, after 2 1/2 years we are still loving ours. We actually moved down from a 24' stick and find that we still have lots of room.

I'm not quite sure if going from a 17 to a 19 is moving up but congratulations anyway. I'll still try to remember to honk and/wave as you drive thru 100Mile.

It is bigger and costs more, there is nothing down about it.
Not knocking the 17 in the least, a great unit in its own right.

Congrats on your new trailer. I'm envious of your cool weather. In South Central Texas, it's still over 100F daily and still no rain. What a year!
