New Year's camping anyone?

There is a group camping north of Dallas with mostly Casitas no doubt. It is 18 F there tonight. Doubt that they expected it to be that cold!

We actually woke up to a little snow this morning. Which I am pretty sure someone sent up from San Antonio. Or maybe it was Austin.

We saw a lovely full moon while camping here in Tetonia ID. Temp has risen from -4 to 7 in the past 24 hours. Woo Hoo!

It was 11°F here in central New Mexico when I woke up this morning at 6 AM. Fortunately I wasn't camped out in the trailer but I rushed out to see if my two 6's had frozen. Happy New Year.

Just kidding. Actually all I did was put a pot of coffee on in the house. As I write this it went up to 13°F out there.

It has been 20 below or colder for the last 3 or 4 mornings.
I did hear the trees pop when I went out to get some firewood , so that's a good sign. My buddies are heading to New Mexico for elk hunting , it looks like from Myron's post that they will encounter nice , warm weather. It was 20 below the last time we hunted elk in NM.

Currently 58 Degrees here and been right at 70degrees all week. Cold snap, but we’ll get through it.

My hummingbird feeder was partly frozen. Had to bring it inside and put it on a hot air register to thaw it out. Hate these nights that drop below freezing.

Well I'm New Years camping, but since I'm in Quartzsite for the winter, it isn't anything special. Only 36°F last night, but is is slowly warming up under hazy skies. 65°F yesterday, and the hummingbirds are happy.

Called my son in Oswego, NY - 3' of new snow on the ground, 5°F & he has already had to snowblow 4 times this season. He is glad I bought a snowblower with heated handles. Now that would be winter camping!

We are camping at Leasburg State Park north of Las Cruces, NM. A bit cool today with a high of about 50 but we will be back into the 60s starting tomorrow.

To anyone camping where it is even slightly warm, we are truly envious.

Last night's low was 19F. Yesterday's high was 36. Low temperatures are forecast to be in the 20s for the next few days. We're not used to this down here.

We are having below normal temps and below normal snow fall amounts . We are badly in need of snow and your picture was a beautiful reminder .We are supposed to get 4 to 6 inches of snow later this week so we are praying that the weatherman ice correct.
We are hoping that some year soon we will make it to Traverse City
for the cherry festival.
