Oh the pain of it all
Our 19'er arrived a few days before our long planned trip to the rally in Bandera, TX. We opted to take the Casita rather than break the Escape in with no local shake down cruise first.
Ugh, we're now in Bandera and just toured two Escape 5th wheels and another 19! I wanna go home and get mine only 2200 miles but so what. If I drive like the Escape delivery guy, I can be back in Bandera by noon tomorrow!

You really do not need a shake down cruise, some Escapes are towed to their destination.

We were a few days from heading out for 6 weeks and 6000 miles. Maybe a little too ambitious of a trip for a shake down. We'll work the bugs out closer to home (darn it!). It's more a matter of us getting used to the new rig rather than worrying about defects.

Bugs? Anything that might come up could be taken care of on the road a long ways from home, just as easy as a short ways from home.
Oh well, I am sure you will give it a good workout in time.

I picked up my 17B at Chilliwack & explored the west for the next 101 days. No real problems during the first trip, but had to have some refrigerator work (all done under warranty) at the start of last year's 132 day trip. Mt advice is to just go!

Finished our shake down!
Well, we finally took the Escape out for a 5 night shakedown at El Capitan State Beach on the gorgeous California Central Coast. I was beginning to think from the replies to my original post here that Escape owners were a little over confident and bordering on "Kool Aid drinkers". After a wonderful and trouble free trip, I have to ask, "can I have some of that Kool Aid?". Compared both to my former trailer (the C-word) and others around, Escape's are the best! Reace and Tammy are at the top of my Christmas card list!
