Out of the frying pan, into the oven

I finally found the Coleman folding camp oven at Army and Navy ( $44.99 ). Now, what the heck do I do with it?

I'm planning to use it with the ThunderRange butane burner as the heat source, but other than keeping the bacon warm while I fry the eggs ( I guess I'll have to get another ThunderRange to fry the eggs ) I really don't know what it can be used for. Can I cook a small roast? Bake bread or a pie? Can I roast potatoes?

Anyone with experience that they care to share - and / or recipes that work?

We will expect lots of home made pizzas at the meet in June.

Basically, you can bake just about anything you want, as long as it fits in there with a bit of breathing room.

Old Bag on your suggestion:

Oh sure. You'll be tossing pizza dough in the trailer and it will be stuck to the ceiling and in the MaxFan ... NO.

Toss it outside, just not under the awning or trees.

Re: Out of the frying pan, into the oven

I used to have one Glenn, and the only trick is to regulate the flame to keep the oven temp constant. Other than that, anything you can bake in a regular (not convection) oven, you can cook in you little camp oven. Neat little folding tricks actually! Have fun!
