Parkit360 tow dolly

I'm considering getting a powered tow dolly to manuver my 19 into our back yard. There's just not enough room to manuver the trailer with our van.

I've been looking at powered tow dollys and so far, the Parkit360 5000 appears to be the leading contender.

Does anyone have experience using a powered dolly, especially this one? Please share your thoughts.

Our yard is flat, but sand under the grass. That said, I'd buy the wider tires or put wider ones on.

Thanks

I have the Parkit360 10K. The tires are plenty beefy enough to maneuver on grass, or pretty much any surface for that matter.

It's very sturdy and well made. My only issue is the tires on mine are beefy to the point that in a tight turn, they rub the folded up Robofoot on my power jack. I think the 5K tires are a little smaller and probably won't pose the same problem.

The way the Parkit360 works is after you lower the trailer onto the ball, you use a long steel rod (supplied with the dolly) and turn the base until it's tight against the coupler. Make sure to snug it up, otherwise there will be wobble forward and backward with the dolly since it balances on two tires.

At some point I'm going to grind off the yoke coupler and weld on a Bulldog Collar-Lok coupler, which will give me a few more inches between the coupler and the jack pole, so problem solved with the tires rubbing the jack.

Do you have the standard 4 inch wide tires or the optional 6 inch wide tires?

What trailer are you moving around?

Thanks for the info

If you do a search in this forum for "Parkit360", you'll find several discussions of this powered dolly and others.

We've had a Parkit360 since 2010 and now use it to move our Escape 21. We chose the wider tires to accommodate a gravel driveway. Does the job well.

Just ordered the Parkit360 B3 model. I didn't need all the options, but by the time I added the wider tires and brake control to the base, the cost difference was negligible. Once I get it and try it out, I'll post a review.

Thanks to everyone for their input.

If I had a tractor, it would have a ball on the front for sure.

I'm considering a Parkit360, most likely the Force ISC 5k B3 model as I like the idea of the larger more stable tires. Any new feedback from owners? Ours would be used to make a sharp 180 deg turn around on our nearly flat asphalt driveway to get the Escape into its shed next to the driveway.

I have the B3. I've practiced on my utility trailer as our 21C is due to arrive in October. I probably should have used our tight space as an excuse to buy a tractor!

I’m curious how it does in winter months on wet grass and soil with regards to leaving any ruts? We lived in western Oregon and get our share of rain.

I'm wondering about using my 25 HP lawn tractor since it is mostly flat and paved. If I use a front jack wheel to hold up the tongue weight and adjust the jack height so that most all the tongue weight is on the jack wheel rather than the ball on the lawn tractor, I would think that would prevent the problem of to much weight on the tractor. The the tractor should just need to apply the force to move the trailer rather than trying to hold up the tongue. Anyone ever tried that?

Lol seems it would have been easier to increase the height of the door and less labor involved than the solution presented each time one used the trailer

I had a front mounted hitch on my F250, and now have one on my Sprinter van. They are great for maneuvering trailers around tight turns.

I worked with a fellow with the front ball hitch setup on his Ford Pickup. He had a pickup camper and pulled his boat. When he wanted to launch the boat he’d swap ends and push the boat I down the ramp. The good thing was the rear drive tires on the 2wd. Pickup never got in the slime on the ramp. That was 50 years ago.
