Picked up 21’ on Monday

We picked up our new 21’ on Monday 10/29. The orientation was great, put our pin the map and met Dennis at Bob’s Burgers & Brew and on our way by 2:30. We spent 3 days at Larrabee State Park and everything works quite well. It rained a good bit and unfortunately my wife spent one day at the emergency dentist and an endodontist for root canal. Always a vacation favorite. On the road now to see the National parks in Utah then back to SC.
It pulls great behind my ‘18 F150 5L screw. Don’t think I could have a better decision on trailer or tow vehicle.😀

Yikes!

Sorry about the root canal, but you have a great looking setup there! Enjoy your long, long journey home

Looks a little low in the back and high in the front for your truck, you may be subject to flashing lights at night. But if the truck bed was still full of stuff and you had not unloaded, it maybe ok by now.

CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! safe travels back home and enjoy that journey. Do you mind if I ask what part of SC? We live in GA and have grand kids in Augusta and other family members in Augusta. One of our favorite places to camp is Edisto Beach.

Enjoy your new home on wheels,

Steve

The rain has prevented me from rearranging the contents of the bed but plan to today. So far no driving at night with trailer.

Stratos we are in Columbia, I grew up in Aiken and knew Augusta pretty well back then. Edisto Beach is my favorite. We’ve camped there a few times in the teardrop. Maybe we’ll cross paths there.

If you can, take your time coming home, because the ride down the Pacific coast is a fantastic experience. So much to see! My one regret after we got our Escape is I didn't follow that advice.

You do realize there are 2 lanes to every road, one going and one returning. Why not try going the other way next time....

Great ! We picked up our 21' in June of this year, and it's been a huge blessing to us. They are just awesome.

It looks like you have quite a bit of squat in the rear of your SCREW F-150, and a riser on the hitch.

I would mention, we also have an F-150 ( 2012 FX-4 SCREW ) . I added hellwig helper leaf springs to ours, which pretty much eliminated much of the squat in the rear ( that's adjustable) . We don't use a WDH, our "stinger" is straight out, and our setup works great. You might consider them. It also stiffens up the rear suspension and makes the truck a bit "sportier" in the corners. ( hee hee )

I’ll have address the squat when I return home. Still haven’t been able to a Tackle bed contents. Maybe that will help. Thanks for your thoughts.

Am surprised these new trucks squat with any bumper pull Escape. Our 2013 Yukon doesn't have any squat and we only use the WDH for a smoother ride in wind and funky highways.

yeah, my F250 doesn't dip even a hair when I hitch the E21 to it.

If you regularly use that truck unladen and not towing, I'd suggest getting a Ride-Rite airbag kit on it, that way you get the best of both worlds, you can level it when heavily loaded and hitched by adding air (my Tacoma liked 35-40 PSI when near its max capacity), and run it at 5 psi maintenance pressure the rest of the time for a stock comfort ride.

Does your new trailer have the high lift axle, or is that the standard height?

Lovely set up. I too have a 2018 F150 SCREW 3.5 XLT with all the Ford trailer tow stuff on board which includes uprated suspension. We have a 21 on order collection date in May so I would be keen to know if the squat sorted itself when you have the chance to unload, etc. Ours will have the higher lift option. Being a complete greenhorn to towing trailers I am looking forward to trying out the trailer back up assist.

Enjoy and safe journey
