Queen Bed in 19
One of the reasons we went for the 19 was the permanent bed. Well now that means "making the bed" each day or just look messy. We are now thinking of just using sleeping bags and pillows. Does anyone have any other suggestions or recommendations

We used the "TravaSak" found at the local "Tuesday Morning". It is a 4 season comforter/sheet/sleeping bag combo that looks presentable lying on the bed. It has a summer top and reverse is winter top. The problem is, no longer being made. But I'm sure there are other similar items. Fit the queen perfectly and now on the full sized 21' bed. Here is an imitator.. http://www.rvsuperbag.com/Standard-Q...oductinfo/RVQ/

Gave up on sheets and such. Too hard tucking in against the rear wall.
Have two sleeping bags ( one 3lb, one 5lb ) zipped together. When it's warm, the 3lb goes on top. When cold, the 5lb is on top. Have another under the seat, if required.

We use a Travasak also that we bought via E-Bay. Works great and easy to roll-up and store.

Get a nice quilt or other bed topper and customize to fit where it doesn't need to be tucked in. You're not looking to use it for sleeping comfort. Make the bed as best you can, then lay this topper over it.
OR, put up a nice curtain! Other benefits to this idea too.
That's what I would do, YMMV

We can sympathize with folks who have to make up and break down the bed each day. It is one reason we moved up from a 16 Scamp to a 5er Scamp and now the 5.0 Escape. We are very happy with our 5.0 bed. The fitted queen sheet goes on easily and it is not difficult to get a flat sheet on (just tucked at the bottom). Then we just throw a comforter on (tucked only at the bottom) and supplement with sleeping bags laid on top as needed...and of course my hot water bottle under the covers on my side in the cool times! Easy to straighten up in the morning and, as Donna D says...the curtains are always a fallback for a messy bed!
There are also sheets made for truckers beds and sofa beds that have the top sheet attached to the bottom of the fitted sheet which we sometimes used in the 16' Scamp.

Like these Sofa Bed sheets...can be ordered 'attached' at the bottom. Then just throw on a comforter.

Sofa bed sheets are for shorter mattress lengths. But, it's easy enough to do if you can sew a straight stitch on a sewing machine. Waterbed sheets are the same thing... top sheet sewn to the bottom sheet at the bottom. Actually, if you sleep like me, it's a good idea. My feet never come "untucked."

We are on our 2nd RVsuperbag. We had a queen for our Casita and got a King for our Escape. Read on their site about using a King on a Queen size bed. It gives you a little extra covers when sleeping so you don't pull the covers off the other person.
We love ours. Worth every dollar and they do cost a few.

We also have a Travasak, but would buy an RV Superbag if we need to replace it. We are one our 6th year with the bag. The beauty of the bag is the sheets that velcro to the inside. We tried sleeping bags, and they were ok for short periods of time and then we had to clean them. We carry two sets of sheets for the Travasak and change them out every week. Our routine is to drop our table, slide the cushions and then unroll the Travasak from its shelf behind the table; dinette to bed in under 5. RV Superbag (aka Travasak) is one of the things we really like and have mentioned it before here: https://sites.google.com/site/ouresc...ves/rvsuperbag
Two pictures one of Travasak rolled on its shelf for the day and one ready to sleep:

In our Casita, we used a fitted bottom sheet and a comforter in a duvet cover on top. The nice thing about that is that you don't need a top sheet, so no tucking issues, and duvet covers don't have to be expensive (I love the IKEA ones). Also, you can switch out comforters depending on the season. We just lay it on top and straighten it up. We plan on doing the same with our Escape.

I purchased 3/4 sheets for my Escape 17' (48" wide) that have a bottom fitted sheet & elastic in the bottom of the top sheet. The elastic keeps the top sheet "tucked" in at the bottom. The same company makes other sizes. Very comfortable sheets.

In our 19, like others we use a fitted sheet on the mattress. On top of that we just use a sheet and a down duvet loosely fit on top, no tucking in needed. In real cold weather we will add a thin wool blanket under the duvet.
I like that I can easily stick my feet out, and/or toss the sheets back, to regulate my body temp.
Works great for us.

Jim,
We had a chuckle about your post. We plan to do the same as you. My husband tends to run "hot" at night too!

WE use a Travasack bought used off Craigslist in 2010. It works great for summer and winter.
