Reminiscing

Looking back through some old threads today and came across this one from last year about the alignment of the 5.0TA on the frame. Reace made a post explaining about a slight imperfection in the handmade mould that caused the variation people were seeing, and he posted a photo of the next 5.0TA shell when it was first mounted on the frame to illustrate: http://www.escapeforum.org/forums/f9...tml#post269452

When I zoomed in on the first photo and saw the little green tag that said "Murphy" I realized that this was our trailer, freshly hatched. Hard to describe the feeling of excitement that it instilled, seeing our build sheet finally starting to come to life. A few weeks later we started getting daily build pics and a few months later we were on the road to Chilliwack. Today Mary is working away on some custom curtains, one of many things we'll do to make our Escape uniquely ours.

This isn't our first trailer, but it's the first one we have ever felt such an appreciation of - it's a thrill every time we go in it and I don't expect that feeling to ever wear off. Reace and Tammy really created something special, between the unique design, the quality and attention to detail, and the remarkable level of customization offered it's easy to see why Escape has such a following.

Now I just have to make it through the next six long, hot agonizingly slow weeks until we hitch up and head for Utah!

After 5 years of owning and traveling in the 5.0TA I still feel a bit of a thrill getting in it when getting ready for a trip, or for pretty much any other reason. I think it's that they are unique as opposed to the box we had before that was the same, more or less, as everyone else had. I still enjoy showing it.

Just wish the truck was aging as well as the trailer.

Our 1998 Ram outlived our 1999 trailer, it is still a good work truck today although not up to hauling us over the Rockies any more. Hope the new one does as well.

You don't live in snow and salt country. Already getting body rust on a 2012.

So true....I'll try to remember that blessing when I'm complaining about the long hot summers down here!
