Mine came with a good holder for it, didn't yours? Maybe a monster speed bump at highway speeds might dislodge it.

We have a rule that if it is not on us outside, it always gets placed in the holder inside. This way we don't lose track of it like we seem to with other remotes.

No, it came off a couple of times. Ended up on the bed.

Our remote holder is just a little plastic nub stuck to the wall panel with a small slot in the back of the remote to slide over the nub. Not a lot of lip to hold it, but hold it, it does. Rode there all the way from Chilliwack to Alabama without falling. But now, when traveling, we pull the batteries and put it in a little basket in the cabinet above the sink with the other smallish electronics we don't want to get lost in the shuffle. Between that remote, television remote, flashlights, frig and freezer temperature transmitters and receiver, we need a mixture of somewhere just south of 18 AA and AAA batteries to "rough it." And then there's chargers for the cell phones, Kindles, tablet, etc. It's amazing the gadgets one can accumulate when trying to get away from it all....

Stuff we need to camp

War Eagle, I hear you. Geez, I miss the drawers that were in the 21'. Need something to hang on the wall by our bed in the 19', for all the wires, chargers & batteries, I stuff the books, flashlight on the side of the mattress, everything else sits on he stove top during the night. We hardly ever used the awning, but sure would like to find a controller for when we sell it.

It must be different than ours, which wraps the sides and the bottom fairly good. You have to lift it a couple inches or so to get it out.

I've seen others that have a little cradle for their remote to sit in, which sounds like what you have, but that's not what we have, wish we did, but we're okay with what we have. I'll try to take/post a photo or two in the morning just so folks will know what I'm talking about.

As promised, photo posted below of how our awning remote hangs on the upper cabinet wall near the door. It's surprisingly secure hanging there on that little plastic nub while camping, but gain, we stow it when traveling.

Yeah, that is nothing like the cradle mine sits in. It is parked a few minutes from the house. Next time I am by I will take a photo of it.

The remote has magnets in the back of the case that sit right on top of the screws. We have the same one and I thought for sure the rolling earthquake would knock it off, but it has stayed put pretty well.

If you are purchasing a remote you might want to verify you are ordering the correct one. I need to send a picture of my remote to make sure I get the correct schematic. There are 2 different control systems used on the 9500E and apparently they are not compatible.

I wrote down 201 Series when we spoke with Camping World, they are still trying to get a price. Does yours come with that number?

Here is ours, I placed a small piece of velcro below it to make sure it stays in place.

Not sure who you are talking to but just in case here is the inside of ours. I do not see any markings on the outside that gives a hint of model #

We have not had a problem but we do like the velcro idea. Thanks

We had our remote control fail - not the batteries - it just failed. The one thing that helped was the high wind sensor. I shook the awning until the wind sensor kicked in and closed the awning.
It took quite a while for the new remote to arrive. I contacted both ETI and Dometic. The actual cost of buying one is staggering.

Thank you Jeff, did you order from domestic or did ETI order one for you? If you have the model and order info, would you mind sharing?
