remote control for Dometic Power Awning 9500A
We lost the remote, and don't even know how....just looked up at wall and it was gone.Has anyone replaced theirs - probably not, but hoping. Trying to talk to Camping World as they have a sale going, but if anyone has purchased one, whatever info they are willing to share would be so helpful. Thank you, Marilyn

I'd contact ETI direct and ask them, they should have a replacement or know where.

You just reminded me of something I need to do.
Figure a way to have a manual wall mounted switch like the 9100 series uses to control the awning. I'd hate like heck to have the remote fail and or get lost and have to manually retract it.

I'll email Dometic again. I've emailed them several times asking for the schematics of at least the control section. For some reason they do not release anything about their 9500 series electric awnings.
Parts to are not easy to get for them either. Good luck locating a remote.
The 9100 series is easy to located parts and information for.
Can you tell which awning I wish they had installed?

I think ETI should have a back up switch as standard. I'm going to ask about it tomorrow.

If one can be procured it might be easier to just get a second remote to have on hand. Given how the wireless design likely works I wouldn’t be surprised if it was very difficult or even impossible to add a wired momentary switch like on the 9100.
The Dometic 9500 awning deployment system and remote appears to be made by SIMU. The model I believe is the Hz02 Plus. I’d bypass Dometic and see if I could get a remote directly from them. They may also have other accessories that work with the system.

In a way, you already do have a backup remote, should the standard one self-destruct or get lost while the awning is deployed - manually shake the awning til the wind sensor kicks in.

We visited ETI last week and I believe a manual switch just inside the door (in addition to the remote) is now standard on the 5.0. I didn’t check the other models.

That might be the switch to turn it off while traveling.

Are you sure this is for deploy/retract? All models with the power awning have always had a simple on/off switch, but this is only a kill switch and does not move the awning.

I will add there are now two switches in that general area. The first is the awning switch, the second is a switch that controls the overhead light in the middle of the ceiling. She did say going forward that switch will control all three overhead lights (dinette, kitchen, and bed). All three can still be controlled manually also so it will be like a three way switch. All of this on the 5.0.

Having owned the power awning, that is the master "Off" switch to prevent accidental opening. I turn it off when traveling.

To prevent confusion, the light switch by the door is not a 3-way switch, but rather a master off switch. A true 3-way allows you to turn a light both on and off from both locations, regardless of switch position at the other location. In the Escape installed configuration, both master switch and on-fixture switch must be on to turn on light. Last I checked ETI won’t do 3-way wiring, even for an upcharge.

Part of our departure checklist is to stow the awning remote somewhere safe
