Go Ottawa!

To borrow somebody else's witticism: I like Spring in Ottawa. It's my favourite day of the year...

I can do you one better- I have asparagus peeking up! Rhubarb looks about like yours, but four little asparagus spears about 1" high each. Really surprised as it has been so wet but I also fertilized it this year (patch is volunteers that had never been babied before.) A couple of mornings ago I divided up a couple of tiny fronds (so I thought) and transplanted five nice large crowns to new beds, plus have another 20 new plants that just went in. Now I need more rhubarb!

I have a volunteer cherry tomato plant, with approximately a dozen little maters on it. One of them is turning red. Now THAT's an early spring.

One of the saddest "will Winter never end" commentaries I've ever seen was a headline in the Dominion Post newspaper, Morgantown, WV, several decades back during a ridiculously long, dreary winter that just wouldn't end. The newpaper headline was, "I saw my first Robin today! It was dead." Now that's just sad....

Do, too: 19ºF twice, with 4 waterline breaks...all within about 3 weeks' time; but, yeah, that was about it. Thank goodness!
