Rhubarb Index 2019
What would rhubarb pie be without strawberries?

I don't think I'll have to worry about that for a while. My rhubarb is barely visible.
But, yes, rhubarb and strawberry pie is one of my favorites.

Same here, mine just emerged. February scared it into staying down a bit longer.

Back in 2010, I pulled my motorcycle into a truck stop off I-90 in Chamberlain, SD to find strawberry rhubarb pie on the menu. I was excited since I had not had strawberry rhubarb pie since about 1966 and had very fond memories of it. Unfortunately, the pie was mediocre at best so I am still in search of the strawberry rhubarb pie I first tasted in my youth.

Try Whidbey Pies cafe on Greenbank Farm on Whidbey. I get the rhubarb but they also have a strawberry rhubarb.

Also just noticed the corgis. Greenbank farm is home to off-leash trails through the meadows and in the woods. (Not for runaways as not fenced where you park.) You can see both sides of the island from the top and weather permitting, there is outdoor seating where they can accompany you for pie (or lunch).

I've got quite a crop of Dandelions coming up if anyone is interested in making wine.

Bobbi, I keep meaning to ask you if you noticed Farther has corgis! Do you still have yours? We lost our big dog, Jobi, 1 1/2 years ago, but still have the chihuahua, Squirt. Bailey, a big black-and-white mutt, joined us a few months after Jobi passed away. Life is good--with dogs!

The rhubarb wine is far superior to dandelion says the palate of an old Bohemie who has tried both numerous times. Piestengel when consumed to the proper volume will give you superhuman strength. However reasoning is inversely compromised. And you can’t fix stupid.

Our rhubarb is coming up here in NE Ohio. Wish I could figure how to post some pics. No asparagus yet but I expect a few warm days and I'll see some poking through. Spring is in the air.
