RV Park Recommendations on I5
We are picking up our new 5.0 TA on Dec. 30 and returning home via I5 from Washington to California at Bakersfield. Does anyone have recommendations for RV parks along this route?

This web site might help you:
The I-5 Exit Information Guide OnLine - Washington Camping Areas & RV Parks
When I last checked the California portion was being updated and wasn't available. We stayed at the RV Park at Rolling Hills Casino in Corning for one quick night in November. Fairly plain, but only $28 for the night with full hook-ups.

You started this same topic the first of the month: http://www.escapeforum.org/forums/f1...ia-4888-6.html
You must be really, really excited!

Donna, I believe on that thread my main concern was weather at this time of year. I don't recall inquiring about specific RV parks at that time. However, you're correct on the excited point!

Good idea to check out RV parks close to the Siskiyous if you're coming down in late December!! You may need to scamper to shelter in a hurry.

When we start out going south we like to stop at Seven Feathers Resort, Canyonville, OR, as part of our shake down first of the year trip. It's very clean, friendly, private bathrooms and has a warm swimming pool. If you enjoy gambling they have a free shuttle to the casino so they can take more of your money or to go out to dinner. It is a resort, however, with all that entails. They do try to separate us little guys from the humongous class As and fivers.
Another place near the freeway is Valley of the Rogue State Park south of Grant's Pass. We've only driven through but it looks like a typical Oregon state park…pleasant, clean, good for a day or two.

I'll be staying at one near Weed CA on Monday for an overnight stop. New to me, $27, has a cafe. Website looks like something from the 50s.

I was the one who started the http://www.escapeforum.org/forums/f1...ia-4888-6.html thread, with the (selfish) primary goal of proudly showing our new 19'. The thread turned into a lengthy discussion about routes
I highly recommend the Allstays Camp and RV | RV Parks Campgrounds App. It was great in a pinch and provides all the information you need - not just for RV parks, but campgrounds, state parks, fuel options, rest areas, etc. You can more-or-less filter it any way you please depending on what information you need. When we traveled up and back, we were surprised at the number of RV parks right along I5 the whole way. There will not be a shortage, and at the time of year you are going, they will not be crowded. You should be able to roll in wherever you need to whenever you want. Most have after hours instructions posted around their offices if you roll in late.
Good luck and congrats!

I would appreciate your review. When I go to Bandon, OR, I stop at the Yreka RV Park: Home
It isn't cheap, I think it was $39.00, but it is very clean and they provide coffee and the local paper in the morning. It also is relatively new. Almost all the spaces are pull-throughs. It is about the half-way mark to Eugene from Sacramento.

Another great place. Also, the shuttle will take you downtown to a hardware store, antique shop or restaurant, or whatever is happening in Canyonville.

Champoeg
The Oregon State campground at Champoeg, about 30 miles south of Portland, is very quiet and scenic. It's just a few miles west of I-5, and it's easy to drive to the park-and-ride and take the commuter rail into Portland for a day without braving traffic or downtown parking fees.

When we returned from Chilliwack, it was our first time pulling a trailer so we were, naturally, looking for any pull through parks we could find. We stopped at Olde Stone Village in McMinnville, Oregon, for a few nights and had a great time. This was our first attempt at unhitching the trailer and we were a little worried; however, our "neighbor" immediately came over to give us moral support. The Evergreen Aviation Museum is within walking distance and there are a couple of great brewpubs (with good food) within a few minutes drive (not to mention some great wineries). Just be aware, you will be the "plankton" in a sea of mega-RVs. It's not right on I-5, but it was worth the extra miles.

This is a decent overnight stop, easy off/on to I5. Pull over on the street right in front to register, tokens for free coffee at the cafe, and a 5 cent discount on gas. Quiet, I'll stay there again.
