Most circuit boards come from China, specialty fabrics and parts from Europe , plus resins and lots of other stuff from both the U.S. and Canada . Imagine a protracted tariff war and the effect it could have on the RV industry.

Yes, with unknown tariffs on yet-to-be determined items, anything could happen. I was only referring to steel, one of the first items in the current tariff "discussion" and one of the two which Glenn specifically mentioned... and one of the few for which there has been any decision.

This makes ordering a new one complicated, I remember ordering the last one on in April/2016 where you called day after day and it was busy. That was during the change over to the new style and move making everyone to wait to select a completion date. Then there was the import debacle where Escape had to change their paper work and get certified. Then there is the historical exchange rate as well as price increases and items no longer being offered. I need a drink.....

Isn't it, when deposit made that price is locked? Except the options, till build sheet is signed?

No, the 'price' is when you pay and the monies are received by ETI. If you pay in 'chunks' the price can fluctuate based on the 'exchange' rate. IF you're a US buyer.

The CBC story could have mentioned and shown pictures of RVs manufactured in Canada instead of showcasing American models with the dealer quoting a price. He must have been very happy with the publicity.

Doesn't matter if trailers are US or Canadian made. Prices go up when tariffs ( taxes ) are applied. For US buyers, they can be consoled in that the tariffs are putting pressure on the Canadian dollar ( down to 77 cents yesterday ).

In 2015, I ordered my Classic 17A when the Can$ was at about 83 cents / US$ and felt (still do) like I got a wonderful bargain. Might be a great time to order.

Hopefully, a majority of this nightmare will be over in November.

Tariffs on steel and aluminum going to US and coming back into Canada. Tit for tat. Better buy that aluminum Ford F150 soon ( if it's not already too late ). Better buy bourbon and mayo too. Tariffs coming on those and 200 other items.

Things such as car parts can cross the border numerous times. I can imagine where iron ore mined in Canada comes across the border to the US to be smelted, goes back to Canada to be rolled, comes back to the US to be stamped, goes back to Canada for final assembly then comes back to the US to be sold to a consumer. So who pays what taxes and tariffs when?
