I got that slogan from Edward Scanlon who was a very fine nurseryman from North Olmsted Ohio. I met him when I was a City Arborist and attended the Society of Municipal Arborists meetings. He had a great sense of humor and was a good friend. He did master street tree plans for municipalities and developed many fine cultivars. I use his slogan every
once in a while to keep his memory alive. If you are familiar with Bradford Pear cultivars, Cleveland and Chanticleer were his selections.

Wow Adrian, I didn't know you'd picked up a new F150.

Sorry to hear you won't be at Osoyoos this time, but hope to see you next year.

Osoyoos is the most likely, as both of the Texas rallies are at times we have other commitments every year. Might could make it to Pineknot...

We certainly did, I actually sent you a PM about it May 7th, guess you missed it. You'll note it's pretending to be hooked up to the tailer in my avatar.

Are you planning on making the Escape rally every year?

I remember the PM asking about the 2.7L - just guess I didn't remember you got one. My mind must be going....

Dunno if we can make Osoyoos every year or not, but we'd like to.

Montana is so beautiful. We hit the clouds just west of Billings, but no rain yet.

Staying at 2 Bar Lazy H Rv Park just east of Butte MT tonight. Light rain currently, and much cooler here than in WY.

Very close now. Are you doing the last leg in one, or two days?

We're staying near Grand Coulee tomorrow Jim - only a 2 hour drive to Osoyoos on Thursday morning.

Yep, I forgot to disconnect the water hose last night. It's froze up, even though the "forecast" said above freezing. Got down to 30 here in the Butte area. Oh well, sit it in the sun and wait for it to thaw.

The frost on everything does look cool though.

We had about 4 inches of un-predicted snow at Hinton, Alberta about three days ago.
Kinda slushy, so didn't have to try out the 4WD.

Whoever was asking about Eastbound campsites, the Hinton KOA, which is East and downhill from Jasper National Park, was very nice, probably the best KOA we've ever stayed at, but we don't generally use them, except at rallies.

If staying at Jasper National Park, we really liked the facility with 30 amp and brand spanking new bath/shower house at the Wapiti campground a mile or so from the 700 sites at the main campground named Whistlers. With Whistlers being full on Victoria weekend, we luckily got what they call the "parking lot" that puts you on pavement in a double width spot--which had room for the truck beside you after unhitching. The rest of the folks there were mostly 28 to 30 foot rental Class C motor homes. Next to us was a couple from Holland, and several couples from Germany. We were happy to not be in slushy mud at the other location, and the bathhouse looked like it was opened this year. Tile showers, auto heat and lights--quite the place.

At an older mobile home park that has RV spaces near Grand Coulee tonight. Nice folks, and at least it was cheap. Only about 2 hours away from the border so we plan on arriving early at Osoyoos tomorrow. Much warmer in Easter Washington than in Montana - it's all about the altitude. Beautiful drive on I-90 coming into Couer D'Alene from the east. Also did better on gas due to no wind and the fact that we were headed predominantly downhill once we crossed the continental divide.

Big time. Calgary is quite high at 3, 500 ft, and even the warm days tend to cool off a lot at night, which usually is a good thing, especially for sleeping.

We have a wee bit more driving tomorrow. I better go pack some clothes, then get a decent start.

Well we missed seeing you on the freeway as you came through Spokane! Coulee Dam is our favorite scenic spot to stop for a break when we head up to Osoyoos. Hope everyone has fun at the rally this year!

We're staying outside the west entrance to Glacier on our route to the rally, gorgeous area. Unfortunately we timed our stay with closures to the Going to the Sun Road, due to a lot of rain (and snow!) . Still making the most of a few days in the park.

Robert,
I do not see any awning straps on your awning. Those winds out west can unfurl your awning, even while unopened. It happened to me last time in Montana. Highly recommend you get some before your return trip and also secure the awning lock tab. Safety first.....
See here for details....http://www.escapeforum.org/forums/f3...ch-5493-6.html
