Screen Room

I am looking for information on the optional screen room. Any photos? I am assuming it the same screen room irrespective of the model of Escape? My understanding is it fastens to the awning?

Does anyone have this option?

Re: Screen Room

Hi
Yes, it does fasten to the awning--it slides into the groove where the awning strap is and then fastenes to the trailer with snaps.
It came with our trailer and we have only used it once.. Maybe if we were in a very buggy area we would put it up..but most of the time the awning is enough for what we want.
Folds up very small and fit under one of the front dinette seats...There are poles that came with it and I am pretty sure they break down into small enough pieces that they store under there too--or under the bigger bench under the bed area.
Trailer is all wrapped up for winter so I am not going to go out searching!!

Re: Screen Room

Hi

We have one and here in northern BC they are worth every penny....
Once you have put it up a couple of times (and you know what you are doing)
it only takes a couple of minutes to have a bug free environment.

Re: Screen Room

I'm assuming they come with a separate piece that fills in the space under the trailer? We had one for our camper van & found that by the time everything was in place, there were a lot of bugs to get inside, before we could sit down. But once that was done, it sure was nice to be bug free!

Re: Screen Room

It is only a screen? Is that correct? There are not privacy curtains or canvas flaps that roll out or drop down?

Re: Screen Room

Yes there is a piece that covers the well wells and the trailer from the ground up.
Then the screen slides in to the track on the awning, the poles are put together,
one end goes in a hole in the awning reel and the other goes to the trailer,
Next you snap the screen to the trailer snaps and your done.

The room is made up of vinyl that slides into the awning, then screen
that goes to about 18" off the ground then vinyl from there down.

Re: Screen Room

I have not yet tried the screen room. However, I bought a "wind screen" for a pop-up cover that has zippers on opposing sides. I plan to velcro it to the inside of the screen room for privacy at night for the little ones that sleep outside with their dad. Hopefully I can use the one zippered side by the door (fold up the edges). If not, I'll remove the trailer side, and just use 3 out of 4 sides. It is made out of lightweight beige nylon or polyester fabric, so it shouldn't be too hard to fix. I would use the awning arms and make loops, I think for the sides, and if that isn't feasible, do the sew or sticky back velcro method for fastening.

Re: Screen Room

Hi: All... We have the screen room and it really doubles your living space. We have only used it once but even I could manage it!!! If you're going to be in one place for some time it's great. Having the factory S/Rm. adds the dome snaps to the trailer body at time of Mfg. for a nice fit. This past year we found no campsites where the bugs wanted to play out in the rain!!! Alf

Re: Screen Room

I assume the new escape webpage is incorrect when it says the screen room is only currently available on the 5.0?

Re: Screen Room

You are correct that what is currently shown under "Options" on the website is inaccurate. We got the screen room with our 19 when we picked it up at the end of Sept this year. The pic gocamp posted is of a 17 with one. Interestingly enough, the pic displayed on the website when you select "screen room" in the options grid on the website depicts a 17' with the screen room. As for the 13 & 15, I personally don't know if the screen room option is available for them too but would guess probably so. However, the easiest way to confirm with 100% certainty would be to email Reace & Tammy directly.
