Sizes for the 5.0

I’m a little confused, did they make 2 versions of the fifth wheel? Is this correct? The earlier 5.0 SA was 19’. The current 5.0TA is 21’

Likely upgrading to a Tundra soon, on the hunt for a new Escape.

Yes, the first single axle 5.0 was 19 feet. Then they created the tandem axle 5.0TA at 21 feet. The current model is the second generation 5.0TA - essentially the same floor plan, the sides are a bit less curved vertically, has a regular screen door instead of the sliding screen door the first version used.

The length on the 5.0TA is the shell since there is no tongue that sticks out in front like a bumper pull trailer. The length of the trailers includes the tongue - i.e. the 21 is 21 feet long including the tongue but the shell is 19 feet. One of the nice things about the 5.0TA is that when you are hitched up, the length of your combined rig is about what it would be pulling a 17 because of the overlap of the bunk over the truck bed - you get a lot of extra space inside while still having a small, maneuverable rig.

If this link works you can download the manual for the 5.0 here

Escape Trailer Owners Community - Downloads - Escape 5.0 Classic Brochure

Compare it to the new one from ETI's web site. It' down by the price.
