Skagit camp

Just returned from Skagit Valley Provincial Park. My buddy, Ian, and I found ourselves in one of the four best sites on the river. Three other sites in the park were occupied. Dozens of others vacant.
I asked the park attendant why nobody was there and he said, simply, mosquitoes. I didn't find them that bad, with lots of Deep Woods Off, and I prefer mosquitoes to being packed in side by side with motorhomes and the buzz of their AC units.

Still didn't get around to putting up the screen room.

Had an issue with the left turn signal and stop lamp on the trailer. Ian had brought his multi-tester, but we couldn't find the problem.
Stopped at Escape on the way home and Reace isolated it as the
tail light converter in the RAV. Managed to get home, only turning right.

And, when I tried to start the RAV at camp, I got the click-click of a dead battery. Somebody, probably me, had left a door ajar I guess, and the battery is five years old. Luckily, I had my Honda 1,000 generator with me and after a few minutes charge, the RAV started. Try that with solar in a rain forest.

Will try sending pix on a new message. This isn't working.

A beer on the terrace.

Ian pleasantly surprised by hot water pressure from outside shower.

It's nice to see the headwaters (well, not exactly) of the Skagit from your side of the line. Thanks for posting...

Is the 37k drive on Silver/Skagit road to the Silvertip Camp Ground paved?

Nope. But, the washboard was not that bad this time. Couple short stretches of potholes, but, a gentle drive at 50 kph, and no traffic. None.
No flat tires.

That is my favorite all time Flyfishing river. I have made over a dozen trips over the years. Sept on the Skagit is awesome.

Beautiful. And there are steelhead--at least one--I've seen it in Thompson Creek, right outside my cabin east of Glacier, Washington.

We were at Skagit Valley Provincial Park ( in BC ). The Skagit River empties into Ross Lake, which lays across the border, but is mostly in the U.S. I've never fished the U.S. stretch. Don't know about Washington State fishing licenses.
Skagit River on B.C. side is catch and release.
