Spring Cleaning

Started to put away the winter heater and dehumidifier and opened up the unit to air it out yesterday. The MaxxFan was opened and I noticed how dirty it appeared. Took off the screen and rinsed in water and wiped off the dirt. The fan blade also looked dirty. There is a small lock nut, easily removed while holding the shaft above with pliers. There is a metal bushing with a tiny hex screw, a little turn and off came the bushing and the fan blade. Washed the blade in soapy water and wiped dry.
To reinstall, notice that the motor shaft is flat on one side, that is the side the tiny hex screw faces, retighten and screw on bolt, retighten and done. Also with the blade off you can reach up and apply 303 Protectorate to the rubber gasket along the top.
Turned on the fan and I'm all set. Have a couple of small mod's to finish before heading to Townsend, Tn in 4 weeks. Will update later.

Please tell us about the "winter heater & dehumidifier" operation. Is the trailer inside or outside during the winter ? Do you maintain a certain temperature inside ? How ? What kind of heater & dehumidifier do you use ?

Thank You for your time & considerations.

I cleaned the Maxx fan in the fall but could not get that grid area on the cover. Suppose I could get it with a toothbrush. Can't reach it at the roof. I did not even think of putting 303 up there on the gasket. Good idea.

Yep. I haven't figured out how to clean the grid yet. Would like to see any ideas on how others have done this. Makes me long for for a simple cover.
