If it wasn't for the wine I'd said forget about storing stuff. But, yes, there are limits on the amount of alcohol that you can import.
The two major questions that may or may not be asked at the border are about firearms or if you have goods that are going to remain in Canada.

going to Canada they only cared if you intend to leave anything there.. we got a wave by when we told them we are going to orientation for the trailer.. we have two tubs full of camping stuff. I did make a list in case they want to see.. but they didn't even ask...
coming back to the US side as soon as we say we were in Canada for orientation for the trailer, the border agent chuckled and say, Oh, an Escape trailer... (we were stuck in the wrong lane during border crossing and our trailer was exported ahead of us by about an hour.. )
What I am still trying to figure out is, why is there a ration on buying milk at Sumas for the Canadian.... ?

That was my experience also. We had 10 or so totes loaded up in the back of the truck. As soon as we said Escape Trailer, they wanted to know how much money I was bringing across to pay for it. I replied it was all paid for in advance. Than just got a smile and have good day. Never asked about the dogs or what was in the truck. Coming back I said exactly
What Donna said, that's my Escape over there. They said ok enjoy it.

The Canadian dairy industry is a "supply-managed industry" - more details here:
https://www.dairyfarmers.ca/what-we-...ply-management or https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supply...ement_(Canada)
This typically means that the price of dairy products in Canada is much higher for the consumer. We find them to be at least 50% more expensive at home (including exchange rate) so we have always returned home with a few jugs of milk, some cheese and eggs. A discussion of the pro's and con's of this supply management system is not for this thread!
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) regulates what can be imported into Canada. In the case of dairy products (e.g.: cheese, milk, yogurt, butter) you are limited to up to 20 kilograms per person however quantities in excess of $20.00 may be subject to high rates of duty as determined by the Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA). What Can I Bring Into Canada in Terms Of Food, Plant, Animal and Related Products? - Food - Canadian Food Inspection Agency
Going to the USA to buy dairy has also been quite popular here in the Vancouver area for many years. We routinely heard stories of the Bellingham Costco dairy shelves being bare on Sunday due to Canadian shoppers! I think this $20 limit is recent and in response to the trend.
