Growing up in the north and moving to the south for 30 years messed me up.

Y'all come back now, eh? Bring your toque.

Are Reace and Tammy still involved? The person I talked today didn’t indicate their involvement. Not saying they’re not but she didn’t go out of her way to say they were.

I can’t blame you for not reading the 21 pages of the thread. Reace himself chimed in with post #138. This says it all. Reace is now Director of Operations.

I picked up my Escape 19 on May 31 and in the course of the morning someone told me that it was Reace's last day on premises full time. She said it would be strange not having him in everyday, but he and his wife had certainly earned it. I said, basically, assuming the new guy is working out, you'll be fine, and she said, basically, yep, things were working out just fine and that Reace had said he'd would still be around, occasionally.

Bottom line, if I lived in British Columbia, had sold my successful small business, and done my bit under the transitional consulting agreement, I might take the summer off. For sure, once the winter rains came, you'd need to look south to find me after Christmas. And if I were the new management, I'd want the founder out enjoying his time on the beach under the non-compete, and not underfoot on the shop floor or scheming to raise financial backing to get back into the industry.

Thanks for the quick reply, I actually did scim most of the thread. Whoever I talked to today mentioned nothing of their continuing involvement even after expressing concern it had been sold.

I was talking to a forum member months ago and they were told by Reace that Tammy was no longer working there and he (Reace) was just on for a while to ensure a smooth handover.

I have been waiting for some official company statement, but I guess that is not coming.

That information gives support to what Tammy said at the Appreciation Rally that she will no longer be organizing it.

That’s the impression I got, neither are still involved. IF that’s the case no one will convince me that’s a good thing.

Jim, the Blue Bonnet is held in April of every year. Registration starts in December though. Don't rush it!

Looks like Pineknot is in October. Karl indicated he is going in a 21.

Glad we bought our 21 before all this transpired. Unfortunately I was involved in acquiring smaller companies for the company I worked for and saw this pattern every time we bought the company with promises that all we are doing is strengthening them finically and will help develop their product. In reality in 18 months to 2 yrs we absorbed them and their identify ceased to exist. I hope n pray this doesn’t happen hear. Momma n I researched busses, motorhomes, 5th wheels and finally trailers for 4 yrs before we came across ETI. They produce a wonderful product and hopefully hopefully they will do so

The company that bought the majority share of ETI had acquired Northern Lite a year or more previously. Tammy and Reace were aware of the relationship between Northern Lite's new owners and previous owners and had had conversations with them. Northern Lite's previous owners were happy with the relationship and that convinced Tammy and Reace to sell in order to grow the company and enjoy the life they have earned.

My feelings exactly. Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy for them as I’m sure they cashed in big time. I did a lot of due diligence before pulling the trigger on our 2016. It would be much harder now knowing what has transpired. Being able to talk to the owners was a big deal for me. I’ve seen this pattern many times with small breweries and eventually the product takes a big hit. I truly hope I’m proven wrong.

For U.S. buyers it can't be that hard for a trailer in this segment- especially given the 25% discount via the exchange rate.

Still, it is a niche market given many if not most Norte Americanos subscribe to Bigger es Better and go for the Barcalounger in their Evo.

Every single person we came into contact with at ETI from purchase through delivery was a joy to work with, and the quality of our trailer is also a testament to the people involved in the production process. That doesn't happen by accident, Reace and Tammy obviously developed that culture as they built ETI and attracted and retained that caliber of staff. Hopefully that culture will endure, there are a lot of people who clearly take much pride in producing these terrific trailers and they are still turning them out today. I wish them every success going forward, and hope Reace and Tammy are able to enjoy some well deserved rest and new adventures.
