Secret new recipes for scrapple, jalapeño spam, head cheese, chitterlings and sweetbreads are tested and evaluated. Cardiologist contact list is updated and plans hatched for replacement of the new trailer you just picked up. ( Before the propane runs out). That's what my sources tell me.

We plan to arrive and get a cabin to stay in since we have dogs, drive up to factory and see the trailer, test out the systems. Next morning return for paperwork/short orientation and then have them bring the unit across the border. Hook up and return to campground, empty the containers from truck into trailer. Check out and head east...

$64 question When? Jim we are only 20 miles off of I-80. You're welcome to stop over after your first day of driving.

I know he's good but one day from the PNW to Iowa?? That's some serious driving.

I would go for the KOA in Lynden, much nicer. Scott

Upon reflection, I should have said that the Sumas RV Park would not be my first choice for staying in the Sumas area, not that it is “not a nice place”.

I believe that the RV Park has new owners that have cleaned up the place and moved some the older trailers that were by the creek. On a positive note, it’s a short walk to Bromely’s IGA and the Mexican restaurant El Nopal which has good food and even better margaritas and the very nice Sumas public library. If you are traveling with dogs, there are the Rodeo grounds across the creek and ball/soccer fields behind the RV Park to exercise the pups. There, I feel better. Scott

The Sumas RV park is right next to a dairy farm, not so good. Pretty run down. We just stayed at the Lynden KOA which was nice. Ask for the shaded sites, the others are pretty hot with a weatern exposure.

Agree - the Sumas RV park did not look good. We have stayed at the Lynden KOA, very nice but I believe they have limited services after October 1 (no restrooms). We have also stayed at The Cedars Ferndale RV Campground - Ferndale Camping - Holiday Trails RV Resorts in Fermdale. Nice, near I 5 and close to shopping (Costco, Camping World and Walmart). Some folks stay at Bay View State Park - beautiful spot but we wanted full hook ups the first few nights (then we headed off for more adventures!).

Happy Trails and, as always, safe travels!
