Tabletop clearance on 21' Escape

As we adjust to our life in our new 21' Escape, I am wondering if the clearance between the rear wall and edge of the dining table is designed to be about 1-2" wide, as ours is Any thoughts?

What's the clearance when it's lowered?

Yes, check if it fits properly in the bed position. My 19 has about a 1/2 inch clearance and fits exactly.

Yeah, as you've probably already surmised, the wall is curved and tapers in as you go down.

Hi Fred,
This why I added a Dicor 4 way slider to our Springfield pedestal & full size table...only use the fore-aft feature to make the bed, although it does permit you to turn the table 90 degrees for a ton of kitchen prep space.
(I didn't have the slider/pedestal installed when you toured our 21 at the rally last year).

I just got my Springfield pedestal to mount it I must pull the table about 2 in. like your table so it can go down and make into a bed . but then it will stick out another 2in into trailer? We will see if I cut it down a few inches after install ? I was tired of making up bed for grandson and then making it into a table for breakfast . The pedestal will be so much easier .It should be an option form ETI.

Greetings jennykatz,

We certainly love the big table and would not want to reduce its size, so I may look at an alternative option to get it closer to the wall while we are stationary.

Fred, if you're cheap like me, I'd just cut and finish a piece of oak the right size to push in there just to keep things from falling thru the gap while using the table. The insulation and vinyl should compress enough to keep it in place and the gap gets small below it doesn't it?

Hi Fred, thanks for the info. Tom had said something about a gap above and below the bathroom door that he was concerned about. Could you take a photo; I am not sure what he means. Any and all other photos would be great too, but I am sure you are busy enjoying your new Escape.

The gap in the bath door is intentional, to allow air circulation in/out of the area, a much needed improvement over the older style.

Any accoumundations for taller people? has anyone asked if the door frame can be made taller for taller folks. I kept bumping my head on the Casita bath door.

You may be able to make yours taller, but the stock baths are precut and installed within the confines of the opening. Compact lightweight trailers have to make concessions somewhere.

I ordered it from straight from Dicor..
They don't seem to have any retail outlet for them, so you must call and talk to Jeff Sibrt (574 264-2699) at Dicor - I got no response to e-mail & after leaving two messages for him I'd about given up, but got him on the 3rd & last try.

If I hadn’t gotten ahold of Jeff, I'd decided to add another layer to the ETI slider to allow the 2 or so inches of fore & aft travel. I had room do that because I had to raise the table height several inches anyway - my 2014 didn't come with a raised floor under the dinette.

Once I got the Dicor slider I followed Rossue’s procedure on the Table pedestal -- is it worth it? thread,
http://www.escapeforum.org/forums/f8...referrerid=445

With the Springfield and Dicor set up, I went back to Chilliwack and had Reace install a raised dinette floor to get the correct bench/tabletop spacing.

Happy with the results, but it was a lot of time and $$ for a 2” gap. I think If I had the set up you show, I'd go for a table extension like thoer suggested & maybe add a napkin holder & usb charging outlets to it.

Thanks for taking the time to do that! Yes that address it. Doesn't seem like anything that would bother me. I guess they are just trying to vent steam. It does come standard with a fan in there, right?
