Teachers' Pet comes home.
Finally, our beloved 19' "Teachers' Pet" is home. We spent the early part of the morning in Chilliwack, sightseeing and marking time until our orientation at ETI started. Rhonda went over all parts of the trailer (overwhelming us both) then it was time to finalize with Tammy while her dad, Dennis, hooked up and drove it across the border to Bob's Burgers and Brews. After hooking up to our TV, we had a burger and brew, then hit to road for home.
It was a long drive and the rush hour traffic was murder around Snohomish, so we found a park, took a nap in the trailer, and finally arrived in Sequim about 10:30. Now the fun begins.

Snohomish?? Sounds like you took highway 9. Did you then take the Edmonds - Kingston ferry?

Yup, Highway 9 until quitting time. We drove around thru Tacoma. One way ferry fee would have been $80. In retrospect, it might have been worth it.
The trailer towed great, almost as easily as our Pop-up. Much nicer inside though.

Ah yes the summer season ferry surcharge in addition to the regular price increases. I lucked out and ferried across in January, only $48.

Had to ship a bunch of phone poles across the Puget Sound on a few occasions. After doing the math, it usually turned out cheaper to just go by ferry. It's a long way around. My costs included the drivers time also.
If I'm on my own time, I still think it through. The cost can be similar. The wait for the ferry can be long sometimes. On the other hand, it is much more pleasant to read or take a walk at a ferry dock than drive the congestion in Tacoma.
