HEY!!!! I resemble that remark.

My mom was on the phone first thing in the day on my 55th birthday, I am sure grinning ear to ear, while she invited me to move into her neighbourhood, which as you might guess is a 55+ one.

Had a choice of Latin or Typing in grade 11.
Took typing. Best choice I ever made.

Yeah, but did any of you typists learn to type with your thumbs only? I remember learning to "type" with my pointer fingers! If I was to follow that... I'd be stabbing a cell phone... hahahahhahahah

Roger that. Mrs Shearer gave me a D+ (she was a hard-nosed Pro) but I learned where all the keys were.

I still don't text with my thumbs. Maybe that will make it easier. It's the only way my two youngest communicate. Dialing the phone is so twentieth century.

Typical text message:

"Do you want Chinese food or pizza"?

"Yes. LOL"

Also, while they do make the occasional phone call they absolutely do not listen to voice mail messages.

My daughter's voice mail message turns to text on her phone... otherwise, she'll miss out on Thanksgiving dinner... ROFL.

I thought it was only my adult son that does not listen to his voice mail! What a relief.

When I took typing many moons ago, there were only a few guys in a class room of girls. The teacher liked having us so it was fun. Little did I realize how useful it was to become when the computer came along.

The summer after fourth grade, I was bored and my mother handed me a typing book and told me to learn to type. It was my only marketable skill when I graduated from college.

My mom taught me to type before taking Typing 10. Typing and Shop tied for my two highest marks in high school. : I am glad though, as I can still type fast and proper.

It has been proven through many discussions with friends. If you text your daughter, expect a reply almost instantly. Text your son, and only if it something to his benefit will you get a text back at all.
