Jim, I want to publicly thank you for being so generous with your time, knowledge, and experience.

Thanks Arny, hoping you can get your storage concerns resolved with an electric tow motor. We can compare our "build sheets" next month. Mine changes daily.....and I thank you for putting me on the Escape 21 trail.

Only 298 more referrals and you'll be even.

I think for the new 21' unit that the stock 2 burner stove will be adequate, I never had 3 things cooking at once and we all know how valuable counter space is in the 19'. I would stay with the 2 burner model in white, the ss was prone to scratching whereas the white would seem easy to take off and respray. The stove cover was another item that is questionable, I took mine off and used a wooden stove cover that did double duty as a cutting board. The sink however will stay as ss with the chrome faucet.

I really like our Dometic (SMEV) cooktop/sink with the flush lids. As we do most of the cooking outside, the lids make for great flush counter space. They have lots of different options. We too have a 3 burner, all that was available quickly at the time, but have never had need for the 3rd burner.

I drool over those SMEV products but I do not think Escape will install those. They are nice and compact.

Jim, Love watching your builds. Mom is looking at the escape page and we plan to put the casita up in the fall for sale. Love the "easy winterizing" and how does the U shape dinette work in the 21...? with me Brenda, and mom that might be an interesting option for us. Do you know if the 21 will also have the front storage box? I am also thinking of having scissor jacks installed on the frame as stabalizers as well as assist with any tire change..

They have to be CSA approved, or Reace cannot legally install them. This is the one he installed in my trailer, one he was putting into the Trilliums he was building at the time. I don't imagine he has any around now, but could likely still get them. Still, if you saw something you like, and they were CAS approved and you shipped them to him.........

Don,
With dual axles all you have to do is ride up on some plastic blocks and you will raise one of the axles for tire change, no need to carry jack. Definitely get the front storage, the insulation and window package, and the spray foam. This makes the Escape really snug in the winter and cool in the summer.

Yep, I was planning on all the insulation and foam, and heating pads and such, I want to join you on the winter expeditions. I also like the toilet shut-off. Given that in April I had a toilet leak in the middle of the night and the next day had to replace the toilet, luckily the campground parts store was wells stocked and it was installed in 10 minutes. But I would have loved to just shut off the toilet and not the entire trailer for the night. So yes, Shut offs are great! I was going to get the 2-burner stove as well. But I might get a TV in the bed area, as well as Dinette, Just in case mom wants to watch her own stuff in the rain

Just out of curiosity, can a 19 footer's canopy fit on a 17 footer and if so could a 21 footer's canopy fit on a 19er?

Jim, I am talkin at 21. One TV in the dinette area (mom's bedroom) and one in the double bed area. Glad they have 15" tires as well, that is a selling point for me after hassling with 14" on our casita till I upgraded.
Are you going to do the Solar setup? What about having some 120 outlets on inverter to operate off of solar?
Don

Yes, I'm thinking the same, 2x tv/cable/12v outlets,(1) dinette oh by the refer and (1)on the side of the cabinet facing the bed. Solar with one group 29 battery or 2x6 volts. No inverter as everything operates off 12v except for a/c which we only used one time last year. With the insulation/windows/foam package it was cool in the summer and warm in the winter.

That's a good response to this challenge,
"Do you have an escape plan?"
Unfortunately - both are no longer secret!
