I tend to agree with cpaharley regarding turbo boosting the smaller engines.
I investigated both p/u trucks before settling on the 2013 Silverado with 5.3l
and all the towing options ( also looked at Dodge ). Yes, it does have flex fuel capability and I am averaging 12l/100 kms. combined. I am anxiously awaiting to try towing our Escape 19 due to hatch on Dec. 10. Will give fuel consumption numbers as they become available.

Which ever Escape provides I'll be happy, yes 2 cards, but that wasn't part of the graphics offered. At least he agreed to drop the 21 off the graphics as I pointed out that Blackjack meant 21.

I was just thinking about turbos and trailers and am leaning toward the possibility that they could be a good match in some situations. (I'm thinking here of the smaller end of the pickup range like many here tow with - not the dually monsters for towing the land whales) Depending on how the manufacturer implements them in a pickup, a turbo could be used to providing extra power only when needed i.e. climbing hills. Theoretically, the smaller engine could provide plenty of power in the flats and low speed situations while allowing for higher mpg's. The turbo could kick in when needed in situations like climbing or needing faster acceleration. I suppose the potential problems would lie in over stressing the smaller engine, but that should be taken in consideration in the engine design itself. I suspect problems arise when turbos are added to engines afterward, rather than being part of the original engine design process.

I've also wondered about the possibility of hybrid pickups with the electric motor being used in times when more power is needed, again allowing for smaller higher mpg engines. Especially since electric motors are all torque. There the problem would probably lie in the added weight of the batteries decreasing load capacity.

Jim, you can do up literally any graphics, and they could print them in the vinyl.

Using a search engine shows a lot of clip art for "blackjack". The clip art can be used by any vinyl graphics business. There may be a charge for some registered clip art. There are vinyl graphic businesses in most any city that can do the aplique. The company that Escape uses for graphics can do the same.

Jim Bennett, It's best that the graphics be cut-out as any sign shop can do rather than screen printed. 2 and 3 colour cut-out graphics are done all the time by sign guys and they ALWAYS look better than screen printed clear vinyl.
34 years in the vinyl graphic business allows me that claim.

Not sure what the confusion was. As you can see, I was referring to using vinyl. I have that done all the time with my work signs. I have a fairly complex, multi-coloured logo, and it comes out great.

On cars and trucks and travel trailers, cut out vinyl looks better than screen printed vinyl in my opinion. Signage is different.

I don't really know other than what I have had done and am talking about with the cut vinyl images. I am not even sure what screen printed vinyl is. Is it when they put photographs and the like on buses?

I've been a Trekkie of sorts since the campy original series debuted in 1966. To seek out new life... to boldly go (where I've never gone before )....

One of my favorite series was Star Trek: The Next Generation (TNG). On board the starship NCC-1701-D was an area where the crew went to relax. That lounge and recreation area was on deck 10, section 1, the forward section.

I never thought I'd have an opportunity to purchase the tenth of any Escape build. Maybe the 110th, but not the 10th... especially a 5th wheel. I am willing to wait however long it takes to own the 10th new Escape 5th wheel off the line.

Maybe Ten Forward needs to take a trip out to Vulcan. Looks like at least one Escape is being used as a Shuttle Craft to visit the Enterprise.

For many many years, while living in Calgary and working in the Lethbridge area, I drove through Vulcan twice a week. In the last 20+ years, only a handful of times. That photo triggers lots of memories.
