Gerda, great picture, I was thinking I would get the name in pale blue. The husband wants red decals though.

My bad, I just took this as an attribute for being a bit weird.
I always maintained that folks must be a little bit weird to stay sane in this world.

Re: The Saga of naming the trailer
I personally love hanging around this forum BECAUSE people here seem to have character! I certainly am not the average normal woman who loves shopping in a mall.... As the matter of fact, I hate malls.... The only reason I go there from time to time is that Apple store, and then I am almost holding my breath to avoid breathing too much of the stale perfumery unhealthy air in there...

So then, Gerda. If I am to understand you correctly, you ARE agreeing that Alf is a bit weird then, right?

Re: The Saga of naming the trailer
Just kicking an idea around about the Escape trailer sizes and naming them....
To start with, there was only the 17' Escape. Then came the 5th wheel which we named the Escape 5.0, 5 for fifth wheel and 5.0 because is sounded fast.. 8)
How about the 13' Escape as Escape 2.5 and so on....?
Or....Escape 13...Escape 15...etc.
I think it would help if you see an Escape buzzin along and you see a size or something recognizable on the side, it might help to say hey....I saw a ____
Just a thought..

Re: The Saga of naming the trailer
Hi: Reace... Why not use the ten foot mark as the basis and add +3 / +5 / +7 and +9 or 10.3, 10.5, 10.7, 10.9 and 5.0. Just a thought!!! Alf

Re: The Saga of naming the trailer
the Old Bag has a hard enough time remembering how long the Toad is as it is. I'd keep the focus on Escape and stick with the practical and immediately apparent 13, 15, 17, 19.

Re: The Saga of naming the trailer
Or just keep it simple with a small decal that has E13, E15, E17, E19 or E5.0?

I agree, keep it simple, just as Glenn said. I tend to just call mine the Escape 19, with no mention of feet, it is pretty much implied.

Re: The Saga of naming the trailer
And it occurred to me that Escape is special, in that most other trailers are measured in even numbers.

Re: The Saga of naming the trailer
I agree with Glenn & Jim. And leave the fifth wheel as Escape 5.0.

Re: The Saga of naming the trailer
Acually Rease, you should have named the 5.0 the 3.0. Every other "5th wheel" (except the "monster" ones) have twin axles (4 wheels in the back) and the 5th wheel being the "one" over the rear axle of the tow. All that is, except our beloved 5.0's, which only have "3" wheels. It does sound "fast" though, and a brilliant idea.

Hey Escape Artist - I looked back a bit and saw your " Tours Light ", or was that " Cours Light ", great name, you should have kept it for the 5.0..

Re: The Saga of naming the trailer
Hi: EGSKPN... Ken. Yes it was a struggle to let "Tours Light" "The Silver Billet" go. It now resides in Halifax N.S. That spare tire cover made everyone do a double take. It was my way of compensating for the fact I didn't like the silver paint on the Boler.
Truth be told I'm quite partial to "Our Escape Hatch". Alf
