The Saga of naming the trailer
Ever since I saw the photos of one of the first Escape 19s emblazoned fore and aft with the custom name "Hokie Escape", I've been playing around with a possible name for our upcoming 19, due in a couple of months. After some deep rumination, I started riffing on the whole "egg" moniker. My first flash of inspiration was greeted bu a perplexed "Huh?" when I said, "Honey, let's name the trailer 'Grade A Extra Large'"! After a bit of explanation, all I got was a flat "No" and a shake of the head.
Undaunted, I retreated for a while. Then came the next flash. "Hey! How about 'Sunny Side Up'?" No answer. Not a good sign. I decided to get off the 'egg' approach for a bit. When I hit her up with 'Haulin' Glass', all I got was a disgusted look and a shake of the head. My suggestion of 'Escapist' got about the same.
OK, I thought, back to the 'egg' theme. "So, what do you think of 'Before the Chicken'?" I queried. The result was one of those deadly, unwavering stares that would wilt a lesser punster. I took one last shot and tossed out "'Bad Yolks'?" Same result.
Down to my last bit of inspiration, I went to my best approach: a choice. "So which do you think is better -- 'Nest Egg' or 'Egg Nest'?" It stopped her cold, but for only a second. I think she figured that if she didn't relent, things would only get worse.
The Trailer's name is now 'Egg Nest'. The rest are available, if anyone out there wants them.

Re: The Saga of naming the trailer
Too funny Bruce. We played with a whole bunch of names too, most trying to use 'Escape' in the name. We did come up with some good (well, cute) ones, but settled on leaving it unnamed, at least for the time being. After using it, maybe something will come forward.

Re: The Saga of naming the trailer
It would be neat to see a list of all the Escape trailer names used already. I do have a few I kinda like, but wonder if they may already be used.
Maybe folks who have named their trailers could post what they have. I do know some already, but probably not near all of them.

Re: The Saga of naming the trailer
And I thought I couldn't post this because it would be off topic:
Out in the back yard, sitting in one of those plastic Cape Cod chairs ( or is it the other place I can't spell or pronounce? ), with a beer on the arm of the chair and the sun beaming down, the company MacBook Pro on my lap, reading the list, lighting a smoke, well you don't have to be brilliant to guess what happened.
The beer toppled over, landed on the keyboard, 1/3 of it spilled out. I grabbed the can, got it upright and managed to salvage the rest of it. You know how sometimes when that happens the beer goes flat? Well, it tasted just fine.

Re: The Saga of naming the trailer
I just held the MacBook up with my left hand, letting the beer drain, while toasting my stupidity with my right. Wiped it down with a paper towel. It was a bit foggy when it started up, but seems OK.

Ours is "Howie" as "How We Escape".
I came up with that one night in the shower....Poor Doug--he never knows what to expect!

Ours is (or is it ours until we pick it up...) Houdini - a name that might be useful when getting out of tight spots ...

Let it drain ? You mean you wasted a whole 1/3 can ? No wonder you're not Hokie : - )

"Suite Escape" because of the double meaning-both as a suite and Sweet! BTW Reace is going to put Wolf on the roof. as Wolfden was too many letters.

Re: The Saga of naming the trailer
I almost got ahold of an '08 17B, but the owners became unable to part with it.
Undaunted, I have contacted Tammy about getting a new one. Finally deciding on a 17', and thinking of calling it Greyt Escape.
As it will be, and because my greyhounds will often be escaping with me.

Re: The Saga of naming the trailer
I don't know where that frowny face came from attached to my last post. I don't employ emoticons in my posts. I try to get my point across without them and then just wait for for the storm when I'm mis-understood. Maybe that's why I didn't get along with the moderators on THAT other forum.
