The wait is over and we're delighted

Yep, our bug-encrusted, road-begrimed trailer is finally home! Dave from "Let-It-Ride' transporting showed up at 0800 this morning and brought us our new trailer. After crawling over, under and through the various nooks and crannies, a quick bath and a connection to house current and city water, we settled down for pancakes and eggs in our new dinette. I actually beat Deb in a hand or two of Rummy while enjoying the break in our fast.

Although I only edged him out by a small margin, Biscuit the cat was nearly the first family member in the trailer. He even beat Deb and the three dogs in exploring the new digs.

I'll post pictures as soon as possible, but there's just so much to do first.

Happy in Memphis;
Dave & Deb

How much fun! I still get a little tingle when I go out to Hokie in the driveway : - ) May it never be different.
PS: bet the pancakes never tasted so good

The guys in the hitch shop were skeptical, but I told 'em it was designed for smaller tow vehicles.

Re: The wait is over and we're delighted

Hi Dave and Deb,
Looks good in the drive! I'm with Alf, little skeptical about the TV : - )
I love the extra window to the right of the door. It will let in some light where there is none normally. I'd have added one if I'd known. If I could find a clear cover for our Maxx Fan, that would add some light too, as would the escape (moon roof) hatch that you have over the bed. That'd be nice if clear also, so you could see the stars!

It would be nice. As it is, Deb's seen me crawl into the bed so now she's a bit afraid of the moon.

Re: The wait is over and we're delighted

This weekend is the maiden voyage. Only about an 85 mile drive to a beautiful lake...but at this stage we're interested in how the trailer functions as opposed to visiting new and wonderous place (although this one is a favorite).

Pictures soon...and can you say "conspicuity tape"?

Dave

Re: The wait is over and we're delighted

The term was obviously made up by some bureaucrat in the US Department of Obfuscation. Its that red and white reflective tape found on big trucks. I picked up a few pieces and applied thin slices around the stair and the king pin to make them a bit more visible. Here's the result:
