The only one further down the food chain from thieves are the people who buy from them. In my younger days I was a roughing sub contractor for new home builders. I can tell you I have had more then my fair share of power tools stolen by thieves. Many of times I would have thieves come up to me on a job sites and try to sale me stolen power tools. When I would tell them to hit the road or I will call the cops they would look at me in disbelief. You could see it in their eyes why would any contractor not want to buy cheap power tools. If people wouldn't buy stolen property many be there would be less thieves. OK now I will get off my soapbox I feel better.

Very true. Many of those same people who buy stolen goods also gripe about thieves. Reminds me of a used car dealer in a small town I used to work as a policeman in. He had hub caps stolen all the time, and always reported it, complaining about those 'damn thieves'. And yet he bought hub caps from a seedy peddler who pretty much only sold stolen goods. He may have been buying back some of his own stolen property without knowing it.
