Thinking of Buying a 19’

I am interested in a 19 but am concerned about their versatility. I like to boondock and get to out of the way places. Not thinking of 4-wheeling but forest service roads to trailheads. I plan on getting the high clearance kit. Any current owners have experience taking their Escape down forest service roads or with boondocking. Can this be done with a 19?

Thanks,

Virgil

Yes it can be done with a 19. Even with our standard axles (no high lift) we have boondocked off several rougher roads without issue. Definitely check out the thread that Dave linked above.

Remember, the high lift only raises the body (and plumbing) the axle tube(s) is still at the same height. IF that's a concern when thinking about high centering on rough roads.

Not to worry -- except on concrete ruts on certain roads. My rule of thumb is, if your tow vehicle won't like it your trailer certainly won't, either.
