We "were"going to have stewed rhubarb (frozen) and strawberries last night---alas I went outside and yapped with the neighbour for awhile---thick black very burnt mess on my saucepan---yikes---took multiple soaks with baking soda and scrubs from both myself and Doug---finally came clean!
Glad I didn't try making poutine --actually the last time I did try, (and only time) with fresh cheesecurds Doug was not impressed!!

That's what I would hear my dad say occasionally. My family's originally from Lycoming Co., but we moved to CA when I was little, so I never experienced rhubarb. I did get to enjoy my Grandma's homemade pickles, and spiced peaches. Soooo good.

Well, it was 12°F at 7:30 this morning (at 3:25PM it is all the way up to 18F). Took the trailer to a local shop around 8:00AM to have the bearings checked, repacked, new tires mounted & brakes adjusted. Got a sad look from the mechanic as he asked if I could come back later in the week (it is suppose to warm up to the 40°Fs by Thursday) because all his bays were filled & he didn't want to do the work outside. I suspect at 12°F the plastic lug nut covers would shatter rather than pop off...

Spring Will Happen!

Raised beds? We have a raised front lawn. We have 2 ft of hard packed ice. No need to step down off the porch. I walked across it today with the ladder to clean the stovepipe and didn't sink in a bit. It'll melt eventually and the rhubarb will come up.
