You'd like Ft. Pickens State Park. The campsites have trees, of a sort, scrub oak and pine, and you're within walking distance of what is arguably the prettiest beach in the U.S. Today would have been a good day for it, too-- it was in the 70s F for most of the day. The wind probably had the surf churned up a bit, though.

I will make a note of that, thanks.

I have actually started, but less than a year ago, a list of campgrounds folks mention, and a brief note on what they had to say, for future use. Better than the reviews you see online, where most people post just to complain.

With all due respect to the Yahoo people, I think they need to get out more. There is nothing wrong with the sites they show but I have been to hundreds of sites across Canada and from B.C to Arizona in the west that I would rate as equal at a minimum.

What a great idea Jim. If you don't mind, I will borrow that idea too. As newbies we don't have places that we've been to before and a listing of recommended campsites will be much appreciated when we finally get to pick our 5.0 TA up!
