As we are getting ready to leave for Chilliwack this weekend, I have been busy with last minute details for the trailer. Got the insurance today and then went to the limestone caves where the trailer will be stored and did the paper work there. Paid $890 for one year in advance. It was almost 90 here today but was a very comfortable 66 degrees F in there. You could hear the big dehumidifiers running which lower the humidity and circulate the air. The caves are about 45 minutes from our house but are easy to get to. The big florescent lights are on nine hours a day and I might just get a little bit of a trickle charge from the solar panel. One thing that is nice is that you call them that you want your trailer and they have it waiting by the door when you get there. The trailer will be way back in there about 100 ft below the surface. They said the complex has over 6 million sq. ft. of room. Saw several Airstreams, a Casita, and a lot of boats. Loren

Rent-A-Cave? A pic of that setup would be great - I'm a spelunker myself. Loved crawling through the Mammoth Cave guided tour.

If it's a business, I wonder how one depreciates a cave as an asset.....

So exciting -- so close! Would also love to see photos of the caves!

Wow, who knew? Never realized something like that existed. And no ones going to be driving up, throwing a chain on your hitch and driving off with your pride and joy. Sort of like storing in Fort Knox.

Out here that would be the granddaddy of wine cellars, and worth a mint.

There are several companies that operate these caves but yup, you found me. SubTropolis is where we'll be. The guys also said that where we were today, that area was mined out in the late fifties. The bulk of that material was used to build the interstate highway system in the area. Also notice all of the pipes for the sprinkler system. Loren

I'm lucky, I have 9' between the edge of my driveway and the fence so the trailer is out of the way of the driveway. Technically trailers aren't allowed to be at the front of houses but I don't have a lane and fortunately they don't seem to enfore the rule

So for the 19 I opted for another soft cover. It's better than the one I had for my Scamp. I like the way it conforms to the shape at the front.

Any recommendations for a soft cover for my Escape 19 on order

I know it is recommended to allow cushions and mattresses room for air to circulate when storing. Would you also take all bedding out if stored under cover with electric for heat?

Storage for our 17a

Help! We just heard from ETI that they wouldn't be able to store our trailer this winter. They are doing some expansion, and need the room. Anyone recommend a secure storage in the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley?

We live in North Vancouver, but storage here is $135 a month, if you can find it. A little cheaper would be nice. Storing at home is out of the question, because we live in a townhouse.

Progress Storage in Chilliwack has a 25' RV space for $60 a month. I know nothing of their reputation, but it's certainly cheaper.
