Travel Companion

It is with regret I announce the passing of my faithful travel companion. While he really did not like traveling in the car, he was always happy to be at any destination to explore and to greet new people. He had his own spot in the "Suite Escape". This picture was taken by Eric Schuman at an Oregon Gathering in Bandon about three years ago.

My condolences Sandra. Pets are a part of our family, and it's sure tough when you lose them.

Sorry about your loss, Sandra. It is always tough, at least until the heartache turns into fond memories.

So sorry to hear of your loss.

When our family dog passed a couple of years ago my youngest son said "at first I cried every time I think of him, but now when I think of him it makes me smile!"

Enjoy your memories of him.

So sorry. I had to let my beloved Skye Terrier Missy go two days ago, a month before her 15th birthday. I am crying for you as well as me. The only thing that makes the pain worthwhile is the memory of the joy.

They are family members and they will always be cherished in our memories. But there is always another future family member waiting for a good home. After 6 months, Cathy brought home a new orange kitten to replace my faithful old lap cat and he is a chip off the old block. Time and a new companion will heal. Loren

So sorry to hear of this, Sandra, and he looks like a wonderful dog, irreplaceable. Many years with a dog is hard to get over.

Sandra,

Sorry for your loss. We all know how much we love our animal companions. One of the main reasons we decided to buy a trailer was to be able to bring Murphy-the-Dog with us. So I guess we should really think of the trailer as a large dog house on wheels, that happens to hold a couple of humans to take care of the dog.

It is a true shame that our canine companions do not have a longer lifespan. It is so tough when they leave us, and it takes a long time to get past the mourning. When I lose my 11 year old mutt who was a stray puppy that showed up in my back yard, at least I will be able to take solace in that we saved her life, gave her a good life, and that she was a very happy and well cared for dog. You have my condolences, Sandra.

Losing a friend is always really hard. I have three who accompany me - I'm their driver and cook and travel planner - kind of an all around personal assistant, is how they view me. If someone has to sleep on the floor, it's me, and I only get to taste the chow before they get it. I would be very lonely without them, and my condolences on your loss. They sure leave a big hole in your heart when they go.
