Turtlenecks or Tanktops...Thanksgiving 2012

Howdy All,

Let's hear from all of you who are camping/traveling on this Thanksgiving.
Tanktops for us. Sandy and I are down on the Texas gulf coast where it was 80 degrees today. We have a "Cajon shrimp boil" planned for Thursday instead of the traditional turkey dinner.
Fresh, local seafood right off the boat and into our boiling pot.

Safe travel you'al and have a great Thanksgiving!
David

Well, that's done it!
I was just on Google Maps. It's 29 hours ( on a good day or five ) by car to Tucson, AZ.
Forecast here is five days of rain and wind before any respite.

We'll be camping in the TX hill country on a friend's land near Wimberley. There are usually about 60 of us (not counting the dogs). Thur we'll be making home-made pizzas in the wood fired brick oven next to the fire pit that we built out there last year. The more traditional meal will be on Fri with two turkeys cooked via propane fryers, a honey ham roasted over the campfire, stuffing & rice/broccoli casseroles cooked via the wood fired oven & some dutch ovens, & some local pies from the town's awesome bakery. Mmmmm good. There'll also be lots of acoustic guitars, a couple of mandolins, a resonator guitar, an acoustic bass, a fiddle & harmonica for providing music to the mix. Good times indeed. However the weather won't be quite as warm as the coast - the latest forecast is mid 40's at night and mid 60's during the day.

Happy Thanksgiving to all and safe travels too.

Brad

2X! 31°F this morning, although I guess I should appreciate that it is all the way up to 45°F now. And, I will be cooking a traditional turkey dinner tomorrow - making a pie today...

Come on down south my Canadian friends. Join us in TX with the rest of the "snowbirds" along the coast. No sense shivering in cold rain, snow, and wind.

Good bye for now...I've got to go buy more ice Jim.

I,m just sitting here looking at the snow covered mountains, after just coming in and peeling off some layers after putting up Christmas lights.Acually not to bad here 7.5c But am seriously jealous . Thanksgiving dinners sound like they will be scrumptious and warm nice weather to boot.Wow wish I was there. So enjoy yourselves for the rest of us that can't be doing the same.

Woodie,

Where is here?
Can you and others please fill in the location ( roughly ) and trailer and tow in the profile under User CP. That info should then appear under your avatar.

5 years!

That is my planned retirement time, and then I will be doing some winter trips south. That is pretty much the only time I can handle the temps down there anyway.
