That narrow dimension is 17.5 inches. Works well for us!

Thanks, Bob. I was wondering about the overall height with the slide mechanism included. Good to know the solution is readily at hand.

We are going to do it exactly the way they did it in
Toto, we went for a visit and loved the set-up. Escape will make the table to your dimensions and then add filler piece so can be made into bed.

Excellent! Glad to hear that. Sounds like the Toto configuration has established a new standard layout. Thanks to Reace and his team at Escape and Toto's great design.

Depth front to back, 29.25"
Width at the back, 34.5"
Max width, 5" from the front, 35"
Front width, 25"

After 2 months on the road the table wobble drove me nuts. I just replaced the table legs with the Springfield folks have been using. Would suggest you consider the same at build time, depending on what your table plans are.
Those of you switching to these types of pedestals, how do you fill/ cover the holes in the vinyl flooring? Or does the large round pedestal type cover all the holes from the original two pole type?

Thanks for your experience! Where did you obtain it from?

Can't remember who it was but one member reported that the base flange of the Springfield covered all but one of the holes after he filled them with an appropriate coloured silicone type material to seal them.

DrPaddle (Doug) tells me he used
Roberts Universal Flooring, Counter, Cabinet and Furniture Repair Kit-Use with Wood, Laminate or Vinyl-10-33 - The Home Depot
to fill the one hole the new leg did not cover. I've got 3 holes to fill and will use the same product.

Where did you purchase the pedestal - they appear to be fairly expensive...
Thanks,
