We've decided to order a 5.0TA

It's taken almost three years of consideration and shopping to completely understand camping, towing and the different brands/models etc., but we've decided it's time to order a new fiver.

Included in our analysis is the fact that we're at that point in life when any big purchases will very soon be outside our ability to finance or recover from. After a very long and thoughtful process that has included buying a Scamp in which we camped for a season, just to understand and experience all of the joys/sorrows/repairs, we feel that we are very ready.

We have located a new tow vehicle which I've already begun negotiations to purchase and I believe that we can come to a fair deal to acquire a 2012 Toyota Tundra 5.7L and we've been in contact with ETI about the ordering process. Of course there are a number of obstacles that will need to be overcome but finally making the decision has been a long time coming. We're ready to turn this new page in our lives and begin the fun times.

We want to share our gratitude with all the members here that have provided a wealth of information that has made the decision process both easy and exciting as well as much more comfortable by enabling us to make an informed decision. Special thanks to DonnaD for all your help, both here and on the FiberGlassRV Forum. Everyone has been exceptional and we're really glad to be a part of this community.

Can you say, "EXCITED!"

We moved from a Scamp 19 to an Escape 5.0TA two years ago and are very happy that we made the switch.
Congratulations!!

Yeah you! I picked up my 5.0TA "Wild Thing" just over a week ago and am driving back across the country to MA. This is one amazing trailer! It's my first and I too did a lot if research and now am learning from hands-on experience and the wonderful folks here in the forum. Enjoy the Build Sheet and fire away with questions as they arise. Congratulations!

Nailed down most of the Build Sheet

We haven't even made our deposit yet but we are getting close to nailing down most of our build sheet. None of what we want to do will be new to most with the largest departure from the norm being an extra set of tail lights next to the rear window to enhance visibility when carrying bicycles. Normal stuff like prewire for solar and prewire for television/cable is pretty boring, just like the U shaped dinette.

There are several important questions we will have when the time comes for the final sign off, but until then, we're reading all of the recommendations from anyone who has a opinion.
