If I'm on my way home and I'm not on my way to another dry camp I'll dump the tanks real early the next day. If I have the time I'll pull into a full service CG and clean the tanks at my pace .

There is a poorly designed rest stop just west of Abbottsford that has a sani-dump. Last time I went in there I could barely get by the line-up for the dump. It was backing up on the highway exit and if there had been one more in the line-up, I and other drivers wouldn't have be able to bypass the dump.
The same crappy design is used for the extremely short on-ramp to the highway, which quickly ends with a two foot high concrete barrier.

What I did in my Escape today: At 2 PM turned 4.3 fridge on, 4 dots, shore power, no fan, freezer compartment back in place, no holes drilled, no food. Trailer is outside but under cover.
Wrote down current temperature, 73°F inside fridge and 73°F outside fridge. Went back an hour and a half later, checked temp. 60.5°F inside, 72° outside.
Now, we wait.

Out in Michigan, we had some mice fill the engine compartment lid of our Chrysler van with about 20 lbs of dry dog food one winter. We could never get it out and it made a big racket every time the hood was opened or closed.

Today I ran my microwave on the installed 2500 watt inverter connected to two of my 6 volts batteries and measured 70 amps on the battery cables when running. I then connected the other two 6 volts batteries in parallel to the original two with a heavy jumper cable and measured amps draw on those cables at 20 amps under the same microwave load. I did all of this because I may relocate two of the batteries and wanted to see the real-world impact on current flow while using the inverter if I do.

Today we set up our "travasack" from Camping World...
Will put large dinette table up and down each day and have a large rear table...we have front table made up as a daybed...
I was so tired of breaking nails making up rear bed with sheets and blankets ...Just being able to fling this thing on will be pretty easy. Lots of storage room to throw it under the seat during the day..

oh yes...and will maybe throw an old comforter down underneath it so the bed is softer--we did always use 3 inch egg crate--I just want a big rear table!!! (and if the view is better out front we'll use the table at that end--options!!!)

Not much too it, but am spending a little quality time with it. Currently "working" near the Cline River with a crew from the U of Vic. It is the field season for the Mountain Legacy Project. We are repeating photos taken by our early Mountain Surveyors. These images provide an excellent perspective of how much our mountain ecosystems have changed over the past century. My Escape serves as my personal chateau in the evenings and by day it becomes an office for processing data from the project. This project is so interesting, it can hardly be called work.

Some of the comparisons of early and current photos are really quite interesting. That is a really cool project and I am surprised that I had never heard of it. Thanks for sharing that.

Funny, there were no line-ups in our hay field northwest of Sundre.

Jim, I was going to send you a PM asking about using your hay field, but that would have meant driving 2hrs in the wrong direction. If the lineups were only a little bit longer, it would have been faster going your way.

On Saturday, our Escape 19' facilitated a fun day trip to paddle whitewater on the North Saskatchewan River west of Rocky Mountain House. We hit all of the rapids we could find between Horberg and RMH, including the infamous Devils Elbow. I had the electric bilge pumps working in my solo open canoe, so even though I took on a lot of water, I never had to stop and dump once. We had a great day. The only swimming done was when my buddy dumped his kayak in the Brierlies Rapids and saw them from close up.

Just back from the Nordegg area and replaced my top wind jack that was looking a little beat up with a side wind jack. Pretty simple and straight forward, remove 3 bolts, replace the old jack with the new one, put the 3 bolts back on.

I unhooked my power cord and I'm exercising my batteries for a week period just letting the solar do it's job. Yesterday I saw the 14.6v boost cycle occur and right now it is 13.6 v. At night it drops to 12.6. I have several things plugged in causing a small drain.

Winter Parking Spot
Tested my winter parking spot out for our Escape 19 and then also test fitted the Calmark trailer cover. I have had the cover sitting in our garage for about the last four months I think it was past time I got the cover out to test fitted it. Over all I am happy with the quality of the Calmark cover for the fit and finish. I do think the cover is worth the extra money.
