What is the Rally stratgy for Memorial Day.

I noticed the 2020 rally releases on the 24th. That is a Sunday.

Memorial Day is the following day.

Are most people just staying for another day or traveling to another destination Sunday night?

We were going to leave Saturday night and hopefully travel when everyone is settled in for the weekend. We have a reservation for Lake Pend Oreille, about 200 miles away.

I am wondering if it is wise to just stay put and leave Tuesday instead of Saturday.

Does anyone have any comments about this?

Thanks.

We went to the rally this year and left Sunday morning.. lots of trailers left around that time too and even a few headed the same direction. I think it depends on where you are going.. it's memorial weekend (long weekend) in the US but not in Canada (their "long weekend" is the week before I think?) we didn't have any issue heading north and being Sunday most of the provincial park campgrounds have vacancies.

Saturday night is the traditional pot luck dinner and on sunday am a coffee and pancake breakfast by either Jim B or others. We always stay until Sunday and leave either early in am or right after breakfast. Out there holiday traffic is not the same as in and around metropolitan areas. You are north of Spokane which we have never experienced any bad congestion at any time. Now Seattle, St. Louis, Chicago I would avoid at all costs.

I love pancakes.

It is on Saturday morning that Lisa and I, along with Marlene and Dennis, have done the pancake and French Toast breakfast, though now that their daughter is no longer an owner not sure if they will be there, or the breakfast will happen. I will chat with them though as we very much enjoy being the French Toast suppliers and would love to keep it happening.

Sunday is the potluck breakfast, lots of good eats then.

A couple times we headed out on the Sunday, but for the past bunch of years we have stayed Sunday night as about 1/3 of all attendees seem to do. Usually have a nice get together.

BTW, it is not a long weekend in Canada, that is the weekend before.

Hey Jim:
I would be willing to step up if needed. Got a grill/griddle and experience.

They have a huge gas grill in their hall.

If it goes, we do always need help, syrup and stuff.

When we were doing the breakfast coffee this year Marlene mentioned that they won't be at the rally for 2020 as they will be travelling at that time.

My brother thought they said something like that that too, now that I think about it. I will let you know if it is a go next May. You two are always a big help, coffee aside.

I'm in for the helper list, cooking or doing dishes during/after. and bringing something.
