We have a Wally World microwave that we bring with us when we are going to have hookups and are planning to use it. It travels in the cabinets by the stairs to the loft. There is an outlet for it inside the cabinet. We got our 5.0 second hand so we just work with what we have. If we aren't planning to use it, we just leave it at home. Best of both worlds.

my sink is on the right, stove on the left. We just put the range hood on the stove side, and the window on the sink side, easy peasy.

While I prefer to cook outside, I rarely used the inside stove, except maybe to boil water. I'm perceiving it is mainly a "space" issue. Not sure if I would want to trade of the convenience of the microwave for whatever space I might gain. Thank you all for responding and please keep the suggestions coming. I am learning a lot.
Even if your cooking style used a microwave, and ours really doesn't. We too love the storage space where the MW would go, as mentioned before it holds 90% of our dry goods. If there was a microwave installed, for 90% of our camping it would just be dead weight, as we don't want to run a genset. For us, there are so many other quick and efficient ways to cook, with the implements and appliances we have.

But, if it is something that you do make good use of, then it definitely is a worthwhile thing to have.

[QUOTE=Donna D.:. You CAN get the cabinet wired for a microwave and get the cabinet door mounted.

Does anyone know if the cabinet where a microwave would be (but isn't) installed on the 21 has a 120V plug ? It was there in our 17B and the previous owner's build sheet didn't indicate any option for a plug. There are 5 plugs standard, yet there is no map as to where they are on ETI website. Could call them, but know they're really busy.

Since we prefer to boondock, the microwave was left out. We really prefer the extra space!

We use the shower all the time, and the powered fan is great. It is also a useful white noise generator -- just sayin'

We added the low pressure propane outlet, but have never used it. I like my Coleman naptha stove. Still, we cook indoors lot's when the weather is bad.

Hi: Rossue... I believe the micro. placement in the 21 is the same as the 5.0TA... beside the fridge. ETI puts it on a dedicated circuit and it is marked so. Alf

Thanks Alf; that's what I thought, but Donna's comment made me wonder. The cabinet(s) IS/ARE wired sounds like. We were going to get the microwave, but thought, heck let's get the door and try the nuke thingy & see if we really want it. Costco has a neat looking one for $50. If we don't like it back it goes!

Hi: Rossue... Best to check if ETI wires for it, if you don't get their micro. unit. Alf

Alf- so you have the microwave? Anyone else out there who doesn't have one in a 21 or TA have just the cabinet with a plug in it and didn't special order it?

A microwave would be useful when we have electricity but our storage compromise was getting the larger frig. This eliminated a couple of shelves and if we'd decided on a microwave I'm not sure where it would have gone, but it would have eliminated yet more kitchen storage. We're happy with the big frig and we ended up staying at places without electricity this summer. As for the fan above the stove, Tammy cautioned that if we reversed the stove and sink we should not get the fan because of the risk of bumping into it when we entered. I thought of that when I bumped my head against the storage cabinet over the passenger bench seat.
