What you like to add or change on the site

Ok.. I will be doing some tweaking in a couple of weeks to the site.. so now would be a good time to get some input on what you might like to change or add..

I will do my best to sort it out and get it implemented..

An anomoly I see is when viewing unread posts, pressing the back button will not take you back to the unread posts but to the list of posts from what ever forum you are in at the moment.

A new banner on top of a web site always refreshes the look. Color changes do the same.

I like your discussion of better arranging the topics but I do not have a good solution. Probably consider that a work in progress.

Great job. I look back at what I have learned from owners and it is astonishing.

Hi: JeffZ... This forum has become my main contact with Glassers. I miss one little button marked "TOP" that automatically sends you to the top of that page of a thread. On the other forum it appears at the bottom of each post. Maybe I'm just old fashioned and there is another way to the "TOP". Alf

Ok.. I've been pretty busy working on the changes.. I was surprised when I was running the stats on the site at the number of hits we get and some other metrics.. We are closing in on 500,000 hits per month!..

So far what I have been able to gather from this thread and others are:

- Keep it simple & clean
- Incorporate another area for users to post pictures of their travels
- Try to work on some easier navigation (top of thread & back to unread topics)
- Some cleaning up of my spelling & grammar that may irk the purest

I'll try to have some stuff in place this weekend.. The hardest is the Navigation issue as I'm working within a software package..

I also thinking of putting in a donations area that is completely voluntary and mainly for those people who have sold their trailers via our forum or would like to help support the forum. This will offset some of my costs of maintaining the site. I was also thinking of trying to get some companies as sponsors to help as well. Hope everyone understands, this is not a money making operation

Eeek, I think I got everything done.. Just before trick or treat!

So late tonight (Oct 31st) I'm going to put the new site up with the following changes..

- New banner & cleaner color scheme with tabs ( keeping it simple & direct )
- An Image Gallery ( so those of you who like to create their own album of pictures for others to view)

- Cleaning up of clutter & grammar
- Go Up & Go Down links on each topic for easier navigation
- Donation area for support

The banner says Escape Travel Forum.

I think Escape Trailer Forum or Escape Travel Trailer Forum would be better.

Any sort of vacation trip is escape travel.

What do you think, Jeff?
