Willing to share your build sheet?

Dave has informed me it is wise to go over several folks build sheets before we put ours in in a couple of weeks. We would love to if any one is willing to share. We are getting a 21 foot, but don't guess it matters. and Thanks ahead of time to anyone who wants to share.

You guys have been a great help.

Our build sheet is posted on page 24 of general escape. But there are more offerings now and some things we listed are standard on today's build sheet. Loren

My build sheet is WAY to convoluted to share. I chose probably way less options than most, and eliminated a lot of standard items too. A few of my extras would only make sense to me too (and hopefully to Escape as well).

It was in reality just a mind game, but like others I assume, we set a mental dollar limit, and every time we added something that put us over that limit, I went back to see what we could take off to drop us back under. It gave us several opportunities to really evaluate every option on our build sheet against our ever evolving sense of needs and wants. In the end, we finished our build sheet completely happy with our chosen options and a couple hundred dollars under that original mental limit. We're happy campers!

Build sheets

There must be a computer program that would list every option and then show the qpercentage of buyers who got them. From there, every owner, after delivery, could evaluate their opinion of how much they used and liked the option. I would write the program but I'm busy sorting my fishing sinkers and three cans of old, fine thread bolts I got from Eric.

Great, this means Eric has room in his shop for a few more tins of miscellaneous "goodies" I plan to send him.

"Black Jack's" build sheet questions

I also saw a number of extra captain's reading lights in unique places. Do you mind explaining your thinking behind the placement of these lights?

We are also working on our 21' build sheet.

ETI use a Microsoft Excel work book/sheet, with all the options listed and priced to create customer build sheets. For some reason, they seem reluctant to share this, although they will let you have a pdf copy. There was a reference earlier in this thread to someone who had spent a few minutes (as I did) to turn the pdf back into an excel version.

richardr,
In my first 19, the queen mattress was "squeezed" into the space, making it hard to make the bed, change the linens and the dreaded condensation issues. I conferred with Escape and they are now making the mattress smaller in the 19 to allow air around the mattress. On the 21, the area also needed some space around the exterior walls, thus the request for the 2" difference.
The stock 2 captain lights over the bed were not used that much, the one over the night stand and over the kitchen cabinet was helpful at night when letting the dogs out to see the exterior steps. The 2 in the rear dinette were used a lot as the stock lights were not too bright. That said, Escape is not using new lights which are much brighter. If I were getting another 21, I'd just get one over the bed, one over the rear dinette and one over the door and one over the night stand. Total of 2 extras.
I also got something like 4 extra 12v outlets and a couple of 120v outlets. If you plan on an electric heater under the bed, plan ahead for that.

I got a headache reading all that, boy you make mine look trivial. Some plus and minus in my opinion, send me a p/m, too many to discuss.

Well there you go. As with most thoughts I have, it's already mostly been accomplished or more likely not that good of an idea. I can certainly see the value of others opinions and keeping to a budget, Escape owners and prospective owners got it goin on. I am a shoot from the hip kind of person, have to have wifely guidance.
