Window in Escape 19' bath....

Is now available. Thanks to recent pictures in Dave and Sandy's new 5.0 Escape build photo's, Escape installed an opening window in their unit while in production. I called Tammy and asked her if I could have one in my 19', she checked with Reace and "YES" it is now on my build sheet (ETA 7/9), she said someone else just called and requested same on their 19' but mine will be the first off the line with an opening window (3 weeks). I'm really excited over this as it will help ventilate the bath in summer as well as let light in. I plan on installing a vent in the door to allow heat in for the winter at a later date. So, for a small additional fee in your build sheet, contact Tammy or Reace. Not sure about retrofit or the 17' but the 5.0 and 19' now can have opening bath windows. There is joy in Mudville tonight.

so will this be a dual pane window like the others ? and will it have a screen that could be removed to use the hose through it for black tank rinsing? How about privacy from the window for such activitied that would require privacy( it is a bathroom )?

It will have a screen as it is an opening window similar to the one in the kitchen, do not know if the screen is removable but it is tinted. If need be I can always add some spray frosting for privacy. Dual pane, I'm not sure but the benefits far out weigh any cold intrusion and I can always install some reflectix similar to what I use on the door window in the winter.

Here is the window Reace installed in our 5.0 a few weeks ago. It adds so much light and the fresh air is great. It's a definite hit.

Re: Window in Escape 19' bath....

My wife was sooooo excited when I told her yesterday that we can now have a window in the bathroom. She says the 5.0 is now our perfect trailer. Just a little bit longer working :P, then we can put in that order.

That window looks like it is frosted. Any idea about the cost yet? I thought the issue with these windows was alowing movement between the shower panel and the side of the trailer? Did they figure that out? I also wonder about long term isues with the shower lining, it would suck to have that crack down the road because of the window .

Re: Window in Escape 19' bath....

I read somewhere there was fear that the inner and outer wall may cause issues. But that issue may have been resolved, it is frosted and has a screen. I think the benefits out weigh any risk involved. Cost was reasonable for one under construction, not sure what it would cost to retrofit nor whether it can be done because the older units may have that issue with the 2 shells that may no longer exist in the newer unit? Ask Reace would be my suggestion.

I think i may just have to call and get the details before ours goes into production, wife says that i will have to bring Tammy flowers when i pick up our trailer in august. Apparantly she thinks I have been a pain in their back sides.

Re: Window in Escape 19' bath....

Just to put in my two cents about the bathroom window idea--for us the bathroom roof vent provides adequate daylight and ventilation. Even if we had it to do over, we would not add a window in the bathroom. --Liz
