Wine glass rack

Installed a couple of wine racks under the overhead cabinet on the kitchen side. It worked well for two years in our Casita and I don't see any reason why it won't work in the Escape. We picked them up at Lowe's. Easy install.

Nice, do they travel there or do you need to stow them.

Like your metal wine glasses as well.

Thanks!

No, we have to stow them, otherwise they would slide right off.

Oh my. Another wine drinker with a camping problem!

Very nice looking, Fred, and inexpensive, too.

I like your racks! But, because TX state parks prohibit the "public consumption or display of alcoholic beveled edges" our "glasses" are stemless.

Oops, didn't know that one. We've violated that a number of times, fortunately the wine glass police weren't oot and aboot.

COE parks too. One ranger fella saw us walking with the stainless steel glasses and advised us to "drink out red solo cups" so we wouldn't be so "obvious". Ooookay!

Every time I see red solo cups, its obvious someone is trying to hide a "beverage" in them.

This would be a better route, but we love Red Dog's wine racks!! But it always surprises me for a country with a huge gun industry, authorities are so prudish about alcohol!!

Think about it. Loaded guns and drinking don't mix. If you have a concealed carry permit in Texas and carrying, don't dare get caught drunk. Responsible gun ownership is what it is all about.

Try putting clothes pegs on the bars to stop the sliding.

So, Texas permits open carry of guns in bars and churches and concealed carry on campuses but prohibits display (!) of "alcoholic beveled edges" in parks?

I'll continue to make my wide swing around Texas on my trips west.

You missed the point - it surprises me that you can own and carry a gun, but you can't drink in public. It just doesn't make sense to a mere Canadian.

Clothespins won't keep the glasses from shattering as they bash one another on a washboard road. Smart thing to do is stow them in old socks to age and enhance the flavour of the wine. Keep them in a cool dark place.

That's kinda what we do but we wrap the glasses in a cloth and put them in a drawer. The aluminum wine glasses and plexiglass goblets should do fine. I might try that clothespin trick.

Take a look at Williams and Sonoma Duraclear wine glasses. Not cheap, but extremely durable and they feel 'right'. I have had their beer mugs rattling around in an upper cupboard for several years and they still look good. They resist the scuffing that acrylic glasses are prone to.
