Yet Another Escape headed to Texas!

Well after 3 years of owning a Casita SD 17' trailer we are moving up to an Escape 19' Did a lot of online research and talked to a local Escape owner here in Texas and viewed his trailer 3 times. We are now on the road back to Texas from Chilliwack with our new 19' Escape. You can see our interior and follow our trip back to Texas on this travel blog. Also learned a lot from this forum as well. We are very happy with the trailer so far, and working with Tammy and Reace to customize the trailer was part of the fun. Well that's all for now as its time to post the days report to the travel blog.

Re: Yet Another Escape headed to Texas!

Hi Jay,
Welcome to the Escape family. We're in San Antonio and like you bugged Brad a bit before ordering. Looks like we will need to have a Hill Country Escape rally, after all we have enough of them here!

Re: Yet Another Escape headed to Texas!

Me again, how do you pick out those neat counter top colors and material from Texas? Does tammy send you a vendor link to look at, or you you find your own vendor? Thanks.

Re: Yet Another Escape headed to Texas!

She told me to go to Home Depot/Lowes and pick a color and get the stock number. She can then order it.

Re: Yet Another Escape headed to Texas!

Actually HD/Lowes for the countertop and almost any fabric store for the material. We purchased our fabric on line and then sent it to Escape.

Re: Yet Another Escape headed to Texas!

Hey Jay... Just got back from five days camping at South Llano River State Park near Junction, TX. If your route back to TX goes near there, I highly recommend it. The park station rents tubes for taking a relaxing float down the river to keep cool.

Glad to hear you & Kathy made it up to Chilliwack safely albeit via different modes of travel & are pleased with your new trailer (as I knew you would be ). Nice to see that you're blogging your trip as well - it's fun to follow along. I'll be curious to see what path you take the rest of the way home. I'm sure it'll include lots of great places & good times. Enjoy & safe travels the rest of the way. Can't wait to see the trailer in person.

Brad

Re: Yet Another Escape headed to Texas!

Back home in Austin Texas with new Escape 19'. It was a fun but long trip to pick it up. I drove 5000 miles total and the trailer was great! May need to add some extra exterior fans to keep the refrigerator cooling here in HOT Texas, though! Also planning some other minor mods when I get time but not much is really needed. Here is link to travel blog again to show pictures of trailer and the places I saw.

Re: Yet Another Escape headed to Texas!

Hi Jay,

You will love your Escape. Hope to see you at one of the many Texas fiberglass rallies. We all have a great time.

Our Escape is 11 months old and has 17,000 miles on it. After a day of sightseeing, it's amazing how it feels like home.

Many happy travels.

Vicki

Re: Yet Another Escape headed to Texas!

Welcome back to Texas with your new Escape Jay and Kathy.
We really do need to have a Texas Escape gathering this fall when it cools off.
How did your border crossings go?

See you someplace/sometime,
David
